Chapter 67: Deciding to Build a Nursery School for My Wife's Hug
Chapter 67: Deciding to Build a Nursery School for My Wife's Hug
The atmosphere froze instantly.
"Aaaaaah!!!"
Xier was the first to react, and she pushed Lin Yan away. She grabbed a nearby cushion and covered her face with it.
"W-Why did this happen?!"
Lin Yan took a deep breath and then exhaled slowly. He stared at the two little heads behind the door, gritting his teeth.
"Nia! You two, come out here."
"What exactly do you two want?!"
Lin Yan pointed upstairs.
"Didn't you say you were going to take a nap?!"
Nia complained.
"Dad, Miki stole my blanket."
"Huh?!"
Miki immediately looked up, her face completely innocent.
"It was Lady Nia who stole it from me!"
"No, it's you!"
Lin Yan held her forehead.
"Alright, alright..."
He sighed, turned and went upstairs, rummaged through the locker and pulled out a new quilt, stuffing it into the little guy's arms.
"One bed per person! Go to bed!"
"Oh……"
Nia, carrying a blanket bigger than herself, swayed as she walked towards her room, with Miki following behind, clutching a teddy bear.
Lin Yan turned around and saw that Xier was still sitting on the sofa, her face buried in the cushions, with only her two bright red ears showing.
"Honey……"
Lin Yan walked over and sat down next to her.
"They're gone..."
"Waaah..."
Syl peeked out from behind the cushion, half her face visible, her eyes still glistening with tears.
"That...was seen..."
"No, I was interrupted and didn't see it."
Lin Yan looked serious.
"So we should make up for it."
Syl: "..."
Lin Yan moved closer again.
The atmosphere warmed up again.
She cautiously raised her head and glanced towards the stairs. Once she was sure it was safe, she finally mustered the courage to close her eyes.
"Dad!"
Suddenly, a head popped out from under the sofa. Nia was chewing on potato chips that someone had given her and was shouting incoherently.
"I'm hungry!!"
"..."
"!!!"
Lin Yan's temples throbbed again.
Syl froze again. She looked down at the pink head that had popped out from under the sofa. The elf princess's expression went from shock to collapse, and finally settled on exhaustion.
"Nya... weren't you taking a nap...?"
"I'm down again~"
Nia was munching on potato chips.
"The blanket Dad gave me is so soft, I'm taking it off!"
She pointed to the space under the sofa. Lin Yan peeked out and, sure enough, there was a new quilt stuffed under the sofa, with snack wrappers scattered around it.
Lin Yan slumped back onto the sofa, tilting his head back in pain and staring at the ceiling.
Retirement life, wifely affection, and romantic time for two—all gone.
He realized that as long as these two energetic brats stayed home all day, his and Sean's retirement life would be completely over.
We must find a way.
Send them all out during the day!!!
……
Feeling depressed, Lin Yan decided to go out for some fresh air.
It was a sunny afternoon in Tamura.
Lin Yan strolled slowly along the paved cement road.
The roadside is lush and green. The latest batch of March Red fruit has been almost harvested, and the workers are preparing for the next batch of fruit.
He strolled all the way to Cold Storage No. 2 at the village entrance. Farmers rode in and out on motorcycles from time to time. This place had become the center of the town. Women in work clothes were sorting the freshly harvested lychees, chatting and laughing.
Lin Yan didn't disturb them and continued walking towards the national highway.
The tallest building on both sides of the national highway is still the Mixue Ice Cream building. The scattered self-built houses on both sides have now been connected into a row.
Several shops opened one after another, including roast meat, rice noodle, and wholesale shops.
Lin Yan had once told Lin Jiayao that it would be great if they could open a few KFC or McDonald's restaurants, but Lin Yan had been lazy and hadn't followed up. Lin Jiayao did the math and eventually chickened out.
The upper floors were still under construction, but after the first floor was completed, Lin Jiayao did some simple renovations and rented it out to local small vendors.
It was quite lively. Lin Yan strolled into a rice noodle shop and ordered a bowl of rice noodles.
Everyone in the town knows Lin Yan, even the landlady, Aunt Mei, recognizes him.
"Boss Lin! What brings you here today?"
"Just taking a walk."
Lin Yan sat down and looked at the national highway that was still under construction.
"Aunt Mei, how's business?"
"Oh, thank you, Boss Lin! Business is booming!"
Aunt Mei chatted while applying makeup.
"Now there are more people in the town, more workers, and more students, so business is much better."
"That's good."
Lin Yan took the rice noodles and ate them slowly. Halfway through, he heard a middle-aged couple at the next table complaining.
"...My mom called again, saying that our little rascal went up the mountain to steal bird nests again this morning, and his pants are all torn."
"Oh dear, this little rascal."
The man sighed.
"I left her in the village for my mom to take care of, but she simply can't handle it."
"you do not say."
The woman frowned.
"My mom is over seventy and her eyesight isn't good. That little rascal is as mischievous as a monkey. How can she possibly catch him? Last time, he even went into the fields to catch loaches. What if there were snakes? It scared my mom so much. If this keeps up, I won't dare go to work."
"What can we do then?"
The middle-aged man took a big bite of noodles.
"We both have to work, so how about... we take him to the construction site?"
"Didn't Sister Li's family take him to the construction site last time? That kid was running right next to the truck; that forklift was so dangerous..."
Lin Yan ate while listening silently. Putting aside his wife's affectionate behavior, this matter was indeed a problem.
Lin Yan walked a little further into the construction site. This land was originally not allowed to be developed commercially, but the policy could not withstand the power of the collective.
Lin Yan never cared about money. When he carried out demolition, he didn't distribute money but directly distributed houses and arranged jobs. The profit-sharing system of the Mixue Ice Cream Company still shocks the entire town.
The construction site is currently at its busiest time for the workers, with vehicles coming and going. In the open space where temporary building materials are parked, Lin Yan spotted a group of mischievous monkeys at a glance.
I don't know how they learned it? A group of people were playing zombie shooting games, using air guns to shoot 'em ups and downs.
What left Lin Yan speechless was that two little brats were hiding behind the truck that was loading goods, which was a blind spot!
"Hey! Hey! Hey!"
Lin Yan picked up the two children.
"Aren't you two in danger?!"
"Uncle, let go of me!"
The little boy, being grabbed by the back of his collar, was still struggling.
"Uncle, we're playing CrossFire!"
"Play my ass!"
Lin Yan, carrying two children, called out towards the construction site.
"Whose kids are these?!"
Several heads poked out.
A woman in her thirties turned pale the moment she saw the child in Lin Yan's arms.
"Oh my god!"
She jogged out and took her son from Lin Yan's arms.
"You disobedient child! Didn't Mom tell you to play under that tree over there? Why did you drive this way? Mr. Lin, I'm so sorry, so sorry..."
