Chapter 11: Out of options
Chapter 11: Out of options
1:30 a.m.
Meng Ran lay on the bed.
Suddenly, he rolled over again.
Then I used a pillow to clamp my ears on both sides.
Unfortunately, this had little effect; the arguing between the two men and two women outside the bedroom door continued to assault his ears.
Before she transmigrated, Meng Ran was still at work.
After time travel, I went to work for another day.
In other words, according to his habitual thinking, if he doesn't go to sleep soon, he'll kick the bucket.
But it's so noisy outside, how can I possibly sleep!
"Oh shit!"
Meng Ran suddenly sat up in bed, forcefully threw off the covers, and got out of bed.
He grabbed a pair of shorts from the closet, put them on, and then strode to the door.
Open the door.
Meng Ran was about to utter a curse.
But the sight of two people riding racehorses on the living room sofa made him swallow his words instantly.
My gaze shifted to the side.
He looked towards the kitchen.
Avoid the pair of female knights.
Meng Ran rubbed his head, annoyed, and said, "Hey, I don't want to disturb your fun, but it's already 1:30 in the morning. Can you guys keep it down?"
to be frank.
Meng Ran was prepared to have a fight with them.
But to my utter surprise...
His roommate, named Ethan, saw him come out.
He immediately burst into laughter: "Bane, have you been working out lately? You're really sexy now, hahaha..."
"Come on, man!" Another roommate beckoned to him, "Ever since you came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel, Kelly has asked your name a hundred times."
"??" Meng Ran.
Who is Kelly?
Who the hell is Kelly?
He soon found out who Kelly was.
One of the blonde girls lifted her leg and stepped off the sofa.
Then he stood on tiptoe.
In just a few steps, he was right in front of Meng Ran.
The fingers adorned with red nail polish slid down Meng Ran's heart.
She leaned close to Meng Ran's ear and whispered:
"Oh pretty boy, you're absolutely irresistible. Maybe the five of us could have a nice night together."
After saying that,
Her fingers also gripped the waistband of her pants.
Meng Ran quickly took a step back: "Pretend I was never here."
boom!
The door was closed.
Kelly paused, then instinctively knocked on the door: "Hey~~ what do you mean?"
Have a pleasant evening!
Meng Ran's voice came from the doorway.
Kelly rolled her eyes, then turned and shrugged at the three people on the sofa.
"You wouldn't believe it, his skin is as smooth as silk. I really should ask him what hair removal cream he uses."
"Ha ha ha ha……"
Ethan and his friends burst into laughter.
Inside the house, Meng Ran, hearing the laughter outside, rubbed his temples again.
There's nothing else I can do.
He was truly at his wit's end.
You thought it was too noisy and planned to go out and argue with them, but they just invited you to join them in arguing.
What the hell is there to debate?
"Oh shit."
"Are all American college students' lives this colorful and exciting?"
Actually, that's not the case. It's impossible for all college students to be like that, but Meng Ran just happened to encounter four extreme cases.
"No!"
"This place is uninhabitable. I really need to make money quickly and move to a better place."
In an instant, the desire to make money reached its peak.
But the noise coming from outside made his thoughts start to wander.
A surge of hormones coursed through my entire body.
For some reason, the images of Clarissa and Thea appeared in his mind.
Clarissa was still awake.
She was in the walk-in closet, choosing what to wear tomorrow.
As she picked things out, she mimicked Meng Ran's tone and words, saying to herself in the mirror, "Hey, Martin, it's not too late for you to get to know me now!"
"Will they really choose to buy plant-based meat because it's healthier?"
"I'm telling you, absolutely not!"
"Your promotion methods are all wrong."
"Threats are too harsh. This is called outsmarting the enemy, ma'am."
As she imitated her, she suddenly started mimicking Thea's arrogance: "Here's your phone, you can call the police now!"
After saying this, she let out a long sigh.
She sat at the dressing table, resting her chin on her hand, lost in thought.
...............
The sky was overcast, and heavy snow began to fall.
The vast expanse of white obscured the "rust" of this automobile city.
Clarissa struggled to get out of bed and sat for a long time with her messy red hair before she finally came to her senses.
He squinted and reached for his phone on the bedside table.
When I looked at it, it was already 9:27.
Clarissa took a closer look at her inbox and found that Meng Ran hadn't sent any text messages, which made her breathe a sigh of relief.
It seems I didn't oversleep.
She lifted the covers, revealing a pair of long legs beneath her black silk short dress nightgown. She got out of bed and walked barefoot to the bathroom to shower.
The hot water splashed on my body, awakening every cell in my body.
After washing up, Clarissa couldn't resist twisting her waist in front of the mirror and examining her figure.
She is 178cm tall.
A graceful neck and jade-like back.
She has a perky butt and long legs.
But her breasts are indeed not large, and she belongs to a different type from the hot Thea, leaning more towards the slender figure of a model.
It took almost an hour to tidy up.
She specially changed into a seemingly ordinary outfit.
This way, Meng Ran's shabby clothes won't stand out.
I called a car again.
Clarissa then hurried downstairs.
"Riss, are you going out?" Edward, her father, who was reading the newspaper in the living room, looked up at her.
Lis is her nickname.
The main difference is that the stress in the pronunciation of Clarissa is on the middle ris.
People who are close to her will call her that.
Just like how "Phillips" is sometimes called "Lipp".
"My car is still at the association; I have to go get it," Clarissa told a little lie.
But Edward wasn't about to fall for her trick. The snow outside the window was falling like goose feathers. "You said you were going to get the car."
Most importantly, it's very suspicious that you came home so late last night.
So Edward said seriously, "I hope you remember your beliefs and don't make any fools of yourself before you're married. Be home by 6 o'clock, okay?"
"Oh~Jesus!" Clarissa waved her hand and turned around.
At this moment, she revealed a temper and impatience that she had never shown to outsiders.
Just then, her mother came downstairs.
Seeing this, Mrs. K couldn't help but complain, "You're too strict with Liz. She's already 22 years old."
Edward shook the newspaper in his hand, looked down at it, and said in an unquestionable tone, "I'm just teaching her how to be an Irish lady."
Furthermore, Kieran is campaigning for city council, and as his sister, Liz must maintain a good public image.
This year is a municipal election year in Detroit, with primaries in August and the general election in November.
However, this statement completely enraged Clarissa.
She retorted angrily, "What does Kieran's ability to become a city councilor have to do with my image? Are you planning to marry me off to someone's son to help Kieran gain political capital?"
"You're neither clever nor particularly talented. Wouldn't it be better for you to marry a gentleman from high society?"
"OK~~OK~~" Clarissa had already guessed that Edward would say that.
She stretched out her hand and kept pressing down, pacing back and forth in the living room.
It's clear that they've reached their limit of patience.
After walking for a while, she said to Edward, "In your eyes, I'm just a pretty piece of trash, right?"
Without waiting for a reply, she continued, "Listen, I made some new progress at the association yesterday. We've come up with a fantastic topic."
Soon, I will be hosting a charity gala dinner in Grosspoint using this topic. At that time, I will gain my own public influence…”
"Liz," Edward interrupted Clarissa.
Looking up through the newspaper, he indifferently poured cold water on the situation.
"There are countless so-called dinner parties in Michigan every month. Some are for networking, some are for fundraising. What makes you think celebrities and the wealthy will attend your dinner party?"
"I..." Clarissa choked, because Edward was absolutely right.
"Don't even think about asking me to send out invitations for you. Our family's connections need to be used for more useful purposes."
Clarissa turned her head away in anger.
I took a deep breath for a while.
Then he looked at Edward and said, "I don't need your help! I can put on the dinner myself."
After saying that, she quickly left the living room and slammed the door shut.
The snow outside was falling heavier and heavier.
I don't know when the weather will clear up.
