Chapter 602 Project Planning
Chapter 602 Project Planning
After dinner, Zhao Ning and Jing Chen were carried upstairs to sleep.
Fan Binbin and Li Dabai, both pregnant women, leaned against the sofa for a while before going back to their room to rest early.
Yang Rong and Liu Yan were upstairs with their child, while Zeng Li was on the sofa reading the complete script sent by Lu Yang.
Jing Tian and Liu Yifei had used up a lot of energy shopping in the afternoon. After taking a shower, they each occupied one side of the sofa, wrapped in matching blankets, and snuggled up there to watch TV.
A music program was playing on TV, and Zhang Liangying was singing a slow song on stage as a guest performer. Jing Tian watched intently and hummed along softly.
When Fu Yibai came out of the study after finishing the last few emails, only Liu Yifei and Jing Tian were left in the living room.
The TV program had finished airing, and an old movie was playing on the screen. Jing Tian was asleep, leaning against the armrest of the sofa, with the blanket covering her halfway down.
When Liu Yifei saw him come downstairs, she nodded towards Jing Tian.
"I was tired from shopping this afternoon, and I fell asleep while watching TV."
I carried her upstairs.
Fu Yibai walked to the sofa, bent down, and gently picked up Jing Tian.
Jing Tian frowned in her sleep, instinctively nuzzling her face against his chest, mumbling something indistinctly, probably in her sleep, as it was hard to hear clearly.
Liu Yifei stood up and helped Jing Tian pick up the blanket that had slipped off, then followed Fu Yibai upstairs.
After settling Jing Tian in, Liu Yifei reached out and took Fu Yibai's hand.
"Brother Yibai."
Fu Yibai turned around to look at her.
Liu Yifei took a step forward, stood on tiptoe, and gently touched his lips.
Her lips were soft and had a minty toothpaste flavor.
"I was scared today, so you're responsible for comforting me."
"How do I coax him?"
Liu Yifei did not answer.
She reached out and pushed open the door to the master bedroom behind her, then grabbed Fu Yibai's wrist and pulled him inside.
The moment the door closed behind her, she stood on tiptoe and kissed him.
The next morning, when Fu Yibai woke up, Liu Yifei was still asleep.
She curled up beside him, one leg draped over his waist, her long hair disheveled on the pillow, and the corners of her mouth slightly upturned.
He gently moved her legs off him, went into the bathroom to take a shower, and changed into a clean shirt and trousers.
When I went downstairs, Fan Binbin was already awake and was leaning on the sofa drinking milk.
Li Dabai sat next to her, with a parenting book open in front of him.
Yang Rong was making breakfast in the kitchen, while Liu Yan was feeding Jing Chen rice cereal. Jing Chen's face was covered in rice cereal. When he saw Fu Yibai coming downstairs, he raised his little hand, which was covered in rice cereal, and waved to him.
Fu Yibai bent down and kissed Jing Chen on the forehead, then walked to the sofa and kissed Fan Binbin and Li Dabai on the forehead.
After breakfast, Zhang Xinyu's car stopped in front of the villa on time.
Fu Yibai opened the car door and sat in the back seat. The car drove out of the villa area and headed towards the Chenxi Building.
When the receptionist saw Fu Yibai enter, she stood up as usual and greeted him with "Good morning, Mr. Fu." He nodded and continued walking.
Upon reaching the 28th floor, Fu Yibai took off his coat and hung it on a hanger, then picked up the landline and dialed Wang Peng's internal line.
"Wang Peng, call everyone from the variety show department to my office."
"Yes, Mr. Fu, I'll inform him right away."
Less than ten minutes later, Wang Peng and Zhou Ming, the director of the variety show department, pushed open the door and came in together.
Zhou Ming is in his early forties. He previously worked as a producer at Dragon TV for several years. After being recruited by Chenxi, he was responsible for coordinating the development and production of all the company's variety show projects.
The two sat down opposite Fu Yibai. Zhang Xinyu poured a cup of tea for each of the three of them and closed the door behind her when she left.
"I called you all here today because I have an idea for a new variety show."
Fu Yibai moved the teacup to the side and placed his hands on the table with his arms crossed.
Have you ever played an escape room game?
Wang Peng and Zhou Ming exchanged a glance.
Wang Peng spoke first: "I've heard of those offline, real-life puzzle games; they're quite popular in Beijing and Shanghai lately."
"Yes, that's it."
I think this could be made into a variety show.
"Variety show?"
"That's right, we can record a celebrity version of an escape room variety show."
I feel there's a market for showcasing celebrities' most authentic selves through the terrifying environment of a locked room.
Wang Peng and Zhou Ming thought about it for a moment and felt that the show definitely had potential.
Moreover, this project was proposed by their CEO, who has never made a mistake in his judgment over the years. Since their CEO has proposed it, all they need to do is execute it.
"The core framework of the show is very simple: invite a group of celebrity guests to enter different themed escape rooms and work together to solve puzzles and pass the level within a specified time."
The entire process uses fixed cameras and follow-up video recordings to capture the guests' genuine reactions, which are then edited into a final product of about ninety minutes per episode.
The fear of the escape room, the teamwork during puzzle-solving, and the performance of guests with different personalities under pressure—these elements themselves possess strong entertainment value.
Wang Peng nodded upon hearing this.
"This model does have potential."
The immersive environment of an escape room creates a sense of immersion. Guests will forget the camera is there after a few minutes, and their reactions will be much more genuine than those in studio variety shows.
However, there is one problem: the quality of the escape room directly determines the effect of the show.
If the escape room is poorly designed, and the puzzles are too easy or too boring, the show will be unwatchable.
"So you have two things to do next."
Fu Yibai held up two fingers.
"First, we need to assess the overall level of the escape room industry in China, identifying which cities have developed their escape room industries better, and which brands have a more outstanding reputation and user experience."
Second, select suitable escape rooms for filming. The criteria are simple: the theme must be story-driven, the puzzles must be layered, and the scenes must be visually impactful.
Too easy, and you're out; too difficult, and the guests can't solve it even after hours. You have to find a balance between difficulty and entertainment value.
Zhou Ming scribbled rapidly in his notebook, repeating several keywords: "storytelling, layering, visual impact."
"After the investigation is completed, we will find a few of the most suitable escape rooms to discuss cooperation."
The escape rooms for the show can't be created using existing solutions; they have to be custom-made.
The theme, puzzles, props, and NPC performance style of each episode must be redesigned according to the characteristics of the guests and the rhythm of the program.
Don't skimp on this budget; the quality of the escape room is the lifeline of this variety show.
Wang Peng wrote a few strokes in his notebook, then looked up and asked.
"What about the guests? Do you have any preliminary ideas?"
"Five to seven regular guests, with personality matching being key."
Fu Yibai took a pen from the pen holder and drew five squares on a blank A4 sheet of paper on the table.
"First, we need a team coordinator to bring the discussion back on track when everyone is in chaos, assign tasks, sort out clues, and make the final decision."
He filled in Deng Chao's name in the first box and put a question mark after it.
