Gold Rush Starts in the Bering Sea

Chapter 15: Getting His Own Father Involved

Chapter 15: Getting His Own Father Involved

From questioning to self-understanding.

Andy went through the biggest emotional journey of his gold rush career.

This was merely following Jason through a gold rush.

The gold was right in front of them, and they found it at the location Jason had drawn.

Although he was skeptical of Jason's proposed detection methods, he expressed understanding.

After all, gold cannot be faked.

Of course, Andy was indignant because his experience of panning for gold in the Bering Sea for more than a decade was completely useless here.

He could finally understand why Jason hadn't given him a higher percentage of the profits.

Jason sat on the deck, watching Brent and Andy take turns making money. In just two hours, the highlighted parts of his notebook were completely sifted out.

After comparing the spoils on the ship, Jason didn't go down to check, and immediately moved on to the next location.

The division of labor on the ship is now very clear: Jason is in charge of finding gold, while Brent and Andy are in charge of extracting it.

Of course, Jason wasn't shirking his responsibilities. In Andy's words, "I've never seen a gold rush like this before. You could hire two complete novices and they could do it."

At Brent and Andy's request, Jason's only task was to conserve his energy and find the gold; the rest was up to them.

On the other side, Albert and Ada temporarily stopped their gold panning work.

Looking at the densely packed gold particles in the gold trough, Ada instantly realized the importance of the sea chart in her hand.

"Dad, it seems Jason's gold-digging talent is stronger than ours," Ada exclaimed.

After a moment of silence, Albert kicked Ada in the backside and said impatiently, "Stop talking nonsense and hurry up and clean the gold trough."

"This kid is actually so talented?" Albert murmured, expressing his doubt and amazement.

Looking at the nautical chart in his hand, Albert calculated the current harvest, assuming that the next locations would all be like this.

This year's gold harvest will definitely set a new record in my gold mining career.

"Ada, remember to sort them properly and don't get them mixed up. Jason's 20% is still in here." Albert kept his word. 20% is 20%. At least we can find more gold here than elsewhere.

"no problem"

Ada was skilled with his hands, and he wasn't jealous of his younger brother; at most, he was just envious.

On the Bering Sea, all the gold prospectors were racing against time, and Jason and Albert were lucky compared to others.

On the Lillian, Jason surfaced again from the seabed, climbed aboard, and shook his head at Brent.

Brent was not directed to the next location; he needed to organize his thoughts before deciding on the direction to go.

"You guys eat something and rest for a bit. I need to check on the situation," Jason said, walking towards the driver's seat.

"You guys have such an easy way of making money," Andy said, lighting a cigar and taking a deep drag.

Brent also pestered Andy for one, and the two of them sat on the deck, letting the waves sway them, leisurely smoking cigars.

Jason in the cockpit kept comparing the nautical chart with the data in his hand.

Clearly, they went astray somewhere along the way.

This was not unexpected for Jason, after all, there are so many gold prospectors in the Bering Sea, who knows if the place he was exploring had been panned for gold before.

Regardless of whether it works out or not, Jason still plans to go back and search again. If he really can't find a rich mining area, then he'll have to find another place.

"Brent, Andy, sit tight, we're about to set off," Jason instructed through the open hatch in the cockpit, before steering the boat around.

Brent and Andy were baffled by Jason's eccentric behavior, but chose not to argue.

From the moment he set sail until now, the gold in the gold trough has fully expressed Jason's attitude.

Arriving at the designated sea area, the boat stopped, and with the help of Brent and Andy, Jason put on his diving equipment and went straight into the sea.

Directing Brent to operate the ship on the seabed, Jason explored the ocean depths step by step.

Especially when exploring underwater, Jason wanted to slap himself twice, wishing he had increased the exploration depth first.

With each step, the mud and sand on the seabed are stirred up, disrupting the already poor visibility.

Finally, when the dazzling golden light appeared before his eyes, Jason's heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally settled down. All that remained was to determine the size of the exploration area and how much gold he could find.

"Brent, stop the ship! We've found a rich mining area!" Even through the walkie-talkie, Jason's excited voice couldn't contain itself.

Jason's words made Brent's eyes light up instantly. The last time Jason said this, they had harvested more than 400 ounces of gold from that rich mining area!

Detection range: 12 meters (upgradeable: 100 ounces can upgrade by 1 meter)

[Detection depth: 1 meter (upgradeable to 100 ounces, upgradeable to 1 meter)]

[Estimated weight: 716.5 ounces]

Upgradeable gold ounces: None

[Note: Gold does not absorb energy; it is only used for upgrading purposes, and its value remains unaffected.]

[Note: Only gold discovered through exploration using one's own methods is of useful value.]

The results almost made Jason jump out of his skin underwater, especially since his exploration depth was only one meter. Of course, it's unrealistic to expect the current gold-absorbing pumps to suck it all up.

But the compiled figures still made Jason very happy.

Jason was all smiles after he surfaced, which made Brent, who had been waiting, grin and show off his big white teeth.

"Jason, here, the notebook is here." Brent stepped forward, handed over the notebook, and carefully supported Jason, afraid that he might bump or hurt him.

Her attentive and flattering manner made Andy, who was standing next to her, unable to bear looking at her directly.

"Brent, don't rush, we need to think about what to do," Jason stopped Brent, who was about to put on his wetsuit.

Jason had already drawn the diagram in his notebook. He said, "There are many rocky areas down here, where a lot of gold is concentrated, but we can only pump up a portion of it."

"The terrain here is a bit flatter, but with our small boat, before we even finish mining, gold prospectors passing by will definitely swarm us."

Andy took a puff of his cigar and said slowly, "Jason, tell me your thoughts."

Looking at Andy and Brent, Jason said, "I'd like to have my dad come along for the mining. Of course, we're a team, so I'll need to fully consider your opinions."

"Furthermore, I get 20% of what my dad gives me."

"After we finish panning for gold here, 20% of the profits can be considered our earnings for this trip."

Andy nodded: "Jason, I have no objection."

"Me too," Brent raised his hand, indicating, "Jason, this is the gold mining spot you found. As you said, we can't mine it with our capabilities. The best solution is cooperation and mutual benefit."

"It's better to explain things clearly; I don't like arguments later," Jason said, expressing his concerns.

"Since you both agree, let's get what we can before they arrive," Jason said, explaining the important points to note about the key areas.

One person went into the sea to make money, another checked the equipment, while Jason returned to the cockpit.

"Albert, this is Jason, reply received."

Albert, who was resting, was taken aback and said irritably, "Hey kid, what's up?"

"Dad, I'm sending you coordinates, hurry up and come over," Jason urged.

Albert realized what was happening and quickly got out of the cockpit, told Ada to stop work, and started the ship the moment he received the coordinates.

"Dad, what's going on?" Ada had no idea what had happened.

"Jason just sent us some coordinates, tell us to hurry over there," Albert said, maneuvering the ship at full speed.

"No way!"

Considering Jason's current location and anxious appearance, Ada thought of a possibility: Jason had discovered gold, and it wasn't a small amount!

"You guessed it too," Albert confirmed Ada's guess.

The Albert sped off at full speed, heading straight for its destination.

Meanwhile, Jason and his two companions in the open sea were also diligently absorbing the gold, trying to minimize the chances of being discovered by the pack of hyenas.
