Chapter 18 Lace Bra
Chapter 18 Lace Bra
Jia stared intently at her cheap husband, her eyes filled with curiosity.
Her attitude towards Luther was ultimately different from that of most people. After all, he was the man she had worn a wedding dress with and made solemn vows before a priest. Especially after their conversation tonight, she had gained a deeper understanding of this European nobleman.
Well, it's not quite what I expected.
At school, teachers often said that these old nobles knew nothing but eating, drinking and having fun, so how come they could talk so knowledgeably about international affairs?
In particular, Luther's remarks about the current state of America surprised even Joseph Sr.
Gia understood that something must have deeply touched old Joseph for him to react this way.
You have to understand that old Joseph is no ordinary man; he has far more information channels!
However, when faced with Gia's question, Luther explained it casually: "Europe has a long history and many dynasties that have changed, so there are many lessons to be learned."
"So, Mr. Luther, what lessons have you learned?"
"Hehe," Luther stopped and turned to look at Gia.
Under the moonlight, she wore a white dress, her tall figure bathed in the moonlight, her shadow floating on the top of the walnut tree, her eyes clear and bright.
Her steps were like a dance, light and graceful, shimmering in the moonlight, rippling outwards in circles throughout the courtyard.
Having known each other for so long, this was a rare moment of ease. Luther felt no pressure, and Gia didn't need to be on guard.
The most beautiful thing in the world is when two people who are cautiously getting to know each other finally discover that they are actually quite nice.
But Luther nodded, smiling, and said, "The biggest lesson I've learned is that humanity doesn't learn from any lessons."
"So, in that case, this...crisis..." She hesitated slightly, then asked curiously, "Is it really unavoidable?"
"Pretty much. A crisis doesn't develop overnight, nor can it end in a short time."
As Jia listened to Luther's words, she smiled slightly. Although she didn't quite understand the topic between Luther and old Joseph, she wasn't that serious about the crisis and didn't even think it was real.
"But Luther, what I admire most about you is that you actually managed to get your father to find things for you to do." Jia showed an envious expression.
You have to understand that she is already eighteen years old and will soon graduate from university. Logically speaking, at this age, children should be involved in the family business to some extent, even if it is only some peripheral business.
This allows children to become familiar with the business early on, preparing them for taking over in the future, and also helps them accumulate experience and develop their skills.
Gia had repeatedly expressed that she was ready and hoped her father would give her a chance to contribute to the family like Daniel, but old Joseph refused her time and time again.
He told his daughter that she was too young and her immature shoulders were not up to the task.
But now, in front of Luther, Joseph actually offered to find him something to do, which was unprecedented in the Kennedy household.
"It's alright. Your family is getting richer and richer, so you'll need someone to help manage things. It's better to ask me than someone else," Luther said, getting straight to the point.
"However, Mr. Luther, if you do take over some of the family business later, could you let me join you?"
Jia looked at Luther, feeling quite excited. Although she wanted to be independent, she was also eager to make a name for herself in the family business.
Old Joseph wouldn't give her a chance, but she could still try to get something from this cheap husband, so it didn't seem like a bad idea.
Sure enough, after hearing Gia's words, Luther nodded: "Of course."
Goodnight, Mr. Luther.
Back on the second floor, Jia greeted everyone and quietly went to her room.
She still isn't used to sharing a bed with other men, and the thought of having to take off all her clothes to do that kind of thing is still hard for her to accept.
In her view, men were much like hairless gorillas—smelly, clumsy, and prone to savage roars.
If this is the inevitable outcome of marriage—that women ultimately become tools for sexual gratification and reproductive machines—then she would rather be more independent.
It's not surprising, though. Most girls who study at Wellesley College think this way. Isn't that what Old Jiang's wife thinks too?
Luther was used to it. He greeted Jia before returning to his room.
After a quick shower, there was a knock on the door. When Luther opened it, he saw his brother-in-law carrying a bottle of wine.
As soon as he entered, his brother-in-law plopped down, exclaiming with deep emotion, "Luther, you saved my life today!"
"If it weren't for you, I don't know how my father would have tormented me. Maybe I wouldn't have any allowance next month, or maybe he would have sent me to join the army."
My brother-in-law escaped death and felt only relief.
For a playboy like him, being broke or joining the army was practically suicide.
To paraphrase a phrase he often used: "I would rather die than live without a woman."
"Don't say that, Daniel. You just aren't interested in your father's business, which doesn't mean you're worthless."
Hearing this, Daniel nodded and said with a wry smile, "Yes, I just don't understand why he has to get into that circle, why he has to go to the White House. Aren't we living a good life right now? The priest told me that being too greedy is also a sin."
Daniel complained and grumbled for a while, and Luther expressed his understanding and even offered some seemingly sincere words of comfort, which made his brother-in-law have a very good impression of him.
Finally, before Daniel left, he patted Luther on the shoulder:
"Luther, you're family, you're my brother. I'll take you out for some exciting fun another day!"
"Stimulating? Like?"
"I'll talk to you later, I'll call you then."
After saying that, the brother-in-law tiptoed away. Tonight, with Old Joseph around, the whole family had to go to bed on time.

at the same time.
In the other master bedroom, Mrs. Rose was dressed in black lace, with a trendy bra on the front and lace panties on the bottom.
Don't underestimate it. The bra wasn't reinvented until 1914, just over a decade ago, by a French designer, which finally liberated millions of women.
This trend then spread from Paris to London, and then to the United States, where now American wives and young ladies all wear this.
If you add some lace and make an opening in the middle, it will be no different from the erotic items of later generations.
Mrs. Rose made special preparations before showing them to her husband little by little.
Despite her advancing age, her needs remained as strong as ever, much to the dismay of old Joseph, who frequently made excuses not to go home.
She maintains a fairly good figure, except for slightly loose skin.
Compared to the young women outside, although her skin wasn't as elastic, she had the advantage of being an experienced woman and was very considerate. Therefore, no matter how busy Joseph was, he would always make time to visit her twice a month.
In the words of the people of China, this is called "submitting homework".
After all that fuss, the couple finally lay down. Mrs. Rose was in high spirits, but old Joseph had something on his mind.
"Ross, I think I'm too old to satisfy you anymore."
"No, you're just too tired. You'll be fine after a rest. Mrs. Jenny's husband rested for a few days and then he could last 210 minutes... You're much stronger than him. When you were young, you were such a passionate guy."
"I hope so."
The two chatted for a while longer, from their children to stocks, then to Joseph's career, and finally to Luther.
Mrs. Rose paused for a moment and then said, "It seems I need to have a talk with him."
