Chapter 730 - 730: 730: Realization
Chapter 730 - 730: 730: Realization
"What? I am still inside the dream?"Admiral Aramaki staggered back, disbelief written across his face. His eyes darted around, searching for flaws in reality, yet everything appeared solid and unchanged.
"This is impossible. We already left the dream, and Verglas, she…"
His voice faltered. His pupils shrank as realization struck. He stared at the Den Den Mushi in his hand.
"Wait… could it be that the Verglas who sent us out earlier was you?"
"Did you figure it out?"
The Den Den Mushi smiled.
"That's right. The Marine Admiral Verglas who helped you escape was nothing more than an illusion I created."
"You bastard!"
Aramaki bit down on his cigarette so hard it bent between his teeth.
"When did you get to her without us noticing?!"
His body swelled, dark wooden patterns spreading across his skin as rage took hold.
"You cowardly pirate! Hiding in the shadows instead of facing me directly!"
"From the very beginning, the one standing beside you was just my dream clone."
"It was always you?"
Aramaki's expression froze.
"That's impossible! Verglas was with us the entire time!"
"Then tell me…"
The Den Den Mushi's tone turned sharp, each word striking like a slap.
"If I am the one controlling this dream, why haven't you found my real body or my companions?"
Aramaki's face darkened.
"Or did you truly believe your own excuse? That the dream worlds are interconnected, and even the controller cannot pinpoint a target?"
"Shut up!"
Aramaki roared.
"Pirates are all despicable and treacherous!"
At those words, the Den Den Mushi's eyes bulged, pressing forward as if alive.
"Huh? Pirates are despicable?"
Its voice rose, filled with fury.
"And what about you Marines? Are you any better?"
"Who dragged us into this dream without explanation?"
"Who attacked first?"
"Wasn't it you who tried to trap us here and use us as leverage against Shirogai?"
"Answer me!"
The Den Den Mushi leaned forward.
"Look into my eyes and say it!"
Smash!
Aramaki slammed it into the ground, crushing it beneath his foot.
"Enough! So what if I am still in the dream? I will destroy it and force you to release us!"
"Hahaha…"
The laughter continued.
Even with the Den Den Mushi shattered, the sound did not stop.
"What are you laughing at?!"
Aramaki stomped repeatedly, his anger spiraling out of control.
"Hahaha…"
The laughter grew louder.
It no longer came from the Den Den Mushi.
It echoed from the sky itself.
"Hahaha…"
The entire island of Elbaf trembled violently, like a miniature world being shaken by unseen hands.
A massive shadow loomed overhead.
It moved slowly, as though examining something delicate.
The Marines looked up.
Their faces turned pale.
"That… that is Shirogai!"
"That pirate… what is that size?!"
The shadow resolved into a face.
A human face.
Aramaki's breath caught.
"What… is this…?"
"Hahaha…"
Shirogai's face filled the sky, vast beyond comprehension. A single eyelash rivaled the height of the Treasure Tree Adam.
"Hehe, so this is the compressed dream. They really are tiny."
His voice carried amusement.
"Even that Marine Admiral who tried to kill me earlier… he is barely noticeable. I could wipe him out with a single breath."
Beside him stood several infamous pirates, watching with interest.
"Damn pirate! Stop playing with me!"
Aramaki roared, his body expanding as he absorbed everything around him. The entire dream version of Elbaf fed into his growth, his form rising to monstrous proportions.
"Angry Forest: Fist of Life!"
High above, a single finger descended.
At first, it moved slowly.
Then faster.
Faster still.
The fingerprint itself stretched like valleys and ridges, vast as mountains.
Boom!
"Aaaah!"
Aramaki's roar cut off abruptly, reduced to a pained cry.
"Stop struggling."
With a casual flick of his finger, Shirogai sent Aramaki flying.
His body shattered mid air before crashing into the sea below.
"Bastard…"
Half his body destroyed, Aramaki floated weakly, refusing to accept defeat.
"Still stubborn."
Shirogai smiled faintly.
He tossed the dream world lightly into the air, his hands glowing with a strange brilliance.
"This world has always been divided, light and darkness, order and chaos."
His voice deepened.
"Since none of you believe you are wrong…"
"Then experience it for yourselves."
The dream shattered.
Split into countless fragments.
Each fragment multiplied endlessly.
Every soul within was forcibly reassigned.
"Go on. Reflect."
"Understand what it means to stand on the other side."
The Marines' consciousness began to fade.
"No… I cannot… fall into this…"
One by one, they collapsed.
When they awoke again, they would no longer be Marines.
They would become citizens abandoned by the World Government, unable to pay the Heavenly Tribute.
Or families executed for resisting the cruelty of the Celestial Dragons.
Or islanders driven into piracy after losing everything.
"Justice changes depending on where you stand."
Shirogai's voice echoed like a verdict.
"And justice that changes is no justice at all."
