Chapter 36 Premonition
Chapter 36 Premonition
Xia Jue waved.
An assistant came over immediately.
"Call Shen Mo over."
Then, as if remembering something, he added, "Get Xia Xue a different horse."
The assistant immediately took the order and left.
Jiang Wei, dressed in a dark red riding outfit, leaned against the railing, gently stroking her red pony, and chuckled, "What, are you changing your mind to Shen Mo?"
Xia Jue glanced at Jiang Wei.
"Stop your little schemes. Shen Mo is not someone you can take away."
Jiang Wei pursed her lips.
"I know, I know, he's yours."
At this point, Jiang Wei became quite indignant.
"These talented people, why do they all only recognize you and not me? It's so unfair! What am I lacking?"
Xia Jue's gaze swept over Jiang Wei's curvaceous figure, then he shook his head.
Sometimes, your strengths can become your biggest weaknesses.
Jiang Wei's gaze fell on her high, rounded breasts. She deliberately puffed out her chest and said smugly, "If you're envious, just say so. It's not like I can't let you touch them. Why are you saying such sour things?"
Xia Jue swallowed hard and shook her head.
"You, really, you dare to say anything out loud, no wonder you have such a bad reputation."
Jiang Wei smiled dismissively.
"What's the use of reputation? Can it put food on the table? What matters is what brings me profit."
Then, as if struck by a sudden thought, Jiang Wei leaned forward, gently stroking Xia Jue's chest with her right hand. She parted her lips slightly and whispered, "Xia Jue, tell me the truth, are you still a virgin? Have you never been with a man before?"
Startled, Xia Jue pushed Jiang Wei away and stumbled backward, coughing twice.
"Be mindful of the occasion."
Jiang Wei looked at the flustered Xia Jue with interest, then chuckled and said, "We're best friends, what's wrong with telling dirty jokes in private? You weren't like this before. Xia Jue, something's up!"
Xia Jue rolled her eyes at Jiang Wei, annoyed.
"What nonsense! You suddenly leaned in, almost triggering my instincts and making me attack you."
"Really?" Jiang Wei asked, still somewhat skeptical.
Xia Jue turned to look at the silent figure approaching, ignoring Jiang Wei.
Seeing that Xia Jue had something to do, Jiang Wei wisely led her beloved horse a little further away.
Suddenly, as if remembering something, Jiang Wei stopped and turned around, looking at the two figures standing side by side like a golden couple with a gossipy expression.
"Could it be that Xia Jue's crush is Shen Mo?"
Just then, a girl in her early twenties, holding up the hem of her dress, ran over, panting and stumbling, and shouted something in their direction from afar.
"Xia Xue, don't ride a horse!"
Jiang Wei scrutinized the girl for a while before recognizing her, a look of realization dawning on her eyes.
"So it was those old fogies from the Xia family who were behind this."
Jiang Wei turned her head and slowly strolled along, leading her beloved horse.
"These old fogies, they really never learn their lesson."
A hint of ferocity flashed in her eyes.
"Xia Jue is just too soft-hearted with these old relics."
However, thinking of Xia Jue's awkward status as an adopted daughter, she shrugged.
"Forget it, I'll ignore these upsetting things."
Jiang Wei lightly leaped and mounted her horse.
"drive."
A red figure, like a bird soaring freely, roams freely across the vast grassland.
Xia Jue glanced at the girl in a formal dress who barged into the racetrack and scoffed.
"It really was those old guys."
Shen Mo said with admiration, "Young Miss is incredibly insightful."
Almost instantly, Xia Jue identified the Xia clan as the mastermind behind the incident.
The reason for summoning him was to instruct him to take action against the spies planted by the Xia clan in the horse farm in the eastern suburbs.
Xia Jue snorted coldly.
"A bunch of old-fashioned people! What era are we living in? They still think they can control our family just because they control the ancestral hall and the family genealogy. How ridiculous!"
Xia Jue glanced at Xia Ke, who was running towards them from a distance.
"Even bad seedlings can produce good shoots. Summon her to the horse farm and take good care of her. Don't let those bastards from the clan ruin her."
Shen Mo nodded in agreement, but still offered a reminder out of a sense of duty.
"Young Miss, this could also be a ruse."
The purpose was to send Xia Ke to the East Suburbs Horse Farm.
After all, most people in Jiangcheng know that the East Suburb Horse Ranch is the most important social venue for the Xia family.
Xia Jue let out a soft chuckle.
"Isn't there you? I believe in your abilities."
Shen Mo quickly said, "Young Miss, I..."
Before he could finish speaking, Xia Jue interrupted, "I trust Father's judgment more."
Silence is Xia Jun's iron rod.
The reason why Shen Mo often sides with her is simply because, in most cases, her interests are aligned with Xia Jun's.
This gave outsiders the illusion that Shenmo was her person.
But Xia Jue was always clear-headed.
After a moment of silence, Shen Mo said, "Yes."
Xia Jue didn't want to pay any attention to the people from the clan.
After all, given her status, it's not appropriate for her to interfere.
However, this incident involves Xia Xue.
There's nothing we can do about that.
If we're going to manage it, let's do it right the first time.
In one fell swoop, the clan's influence was wiped out from the horse farm in the eastern suburbs.
Xia Jue chuckled softly.
I imagine my father would be very happy to find out.
He had wanted to do this for a long time, but he just didn't have an excuse.
Xia Jue looked toward the city center.
"Not just the East Suburbs Horse Ranch, what Father most wants to do is..."
Xia Jue shook her head.
"These things have nothing to do with me."
Xia Jue waved his hand silently.
She turned and strode toward her beloved horse, then lightly leaped onto it in mid-air.
Sensing Xia Jue's presence, the black horse excitedly raised its front hooves high and let out a loud neigh.
"drive!"
Xia Jue's face was beaming with a confident and composed smile.
He sat upright on the horse, as steady as Mount Tai.
The black horse beneath Xia Jue seemed to understand the meaning behind his words, and like an arrow released from a bow, it rushed into the riding arena, chasing after the red figure galloping across the field.
"Huff huff..."
Xia Ke ran to Xia Xue and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that Xia Xue had obediently not ridden a horse.
"The horse, the horse was, moved, moved its hands and feet."
"A cameo in 'So What If I'm Humble? I'm Achieving Success in Both Love and Career,' opening the treasure chest..."
"Max level talent: Premonition"
"Premonition: You have an innate intuition for good or bad outcomes. You can always sense the arrival of a crisis in advance, thus avoiding all risks. You can also always sense the arrival of success in advance, thus reaping rich rewards. Weakness: If your nerves are not resilient enough, you are prone to neurasthenia, insomnia, nightmares, paranoia, and headaches."
"Max level trait: Nervous Resilience".
Xia Xue felt a refreshing current flowing through the depths of her mind, as if the whole world had become more vibrant.
A premonition.
What a talent!
Xia Xue smiled sincerely, picked up an unopened bottle of mineral water from the side, handed it over, and said in a gentle tone.
"Don't worry, I didn't ride it."
Once Xia Xue was safe and her attitude towards her was confirmed, the tense expression on Xia Ke's face finally disappeared.
"Don't get involved in this matter anymore. This is my contact information. You can contact me anytime if you encounter any difficulties in the future."
As she spoke, Xia Xue handed over her second business card.
Xia Ke stared blankly at Xia Xue's business card. For some reason, she suddenly felt that her wandering heart had found a harbor, her drifting soul had found a home, and her lost ship had found a direction to move forward.
Xia Ke looked up longingly and quietly watched Xia Xue wave to her casually while loudly announcing to Lu Yuan beside her, "Let's go, Big Sister and Sister Wei have already run half a lap."
With that, Xia Xue leaped lightly, landing on the horse's back like a falling feather.
Lu Yuan grabbed the saddle, did a backflip, and mounted the horse without stirrups. She raised an eyebrow at Xia Xue and said, "I'm not bad either, am I?"
Xia Xue gently tugged the reins, squeezed her legs together lightly, and laughed loudly:
"We'll only know after we've had a chance to compete, let's go!"
Before he finished speaking, the horse had already galloped off.
"Wait for me, let's go!"
Lu Yuan quickly spurred her horse to catch up.
Xia Ke stood stunned by the railing, watching Xia Xue's retreating figure as she rode away on horseback, her lips barely moving:
"Xia...Snow..."
