Chapter 73 Waiting
"If you're sure, then I can treat one of my sons first, but you need to give me a genetic sample today." Link took out another blood-drawing syringe with a metal cap and placed it on the desk.
"So what is the collaboration about?" Norman Osborn asked.
"It's about the Osborn Corporation. Richard Parker's escape and death meant his research was lost forever," Link said. "The Osborn Corporation is in a bad situation now, and I need it to be even worse."
"It would allow me to short sell and then buy at the bottom, in order to take control of the Osborne Group."
"Of course, I still need you to serve as CEO. After that, I will transfer more technology to the Osborn Group to develop the group."
"I need the Osborn Group to reach the level of Stark Industries."
Norman Osborn frowned, thought for a moment, and then said, "I can pay for the treatment, but the Osborn Group doesn't belong to one person."
"No rush!" Link laughed. "As far as I know, the military will soon cancel its cooperation with you, and I estimate you'll be kicked out of the board."
"We can talk about it later. Now give me your gene sample. This is the treatment injection that needs to be developed based on the gene sample."
"Once you're sure there's nothing wrong, I can treat your son first, and then we'll wait and see."
Norman Osborn nodded, then picked up the sealed tube, took out the syringe, and drew his own blood. He was also a technician, so drawing blood was not unfamiliar to him.
He then resealed it and handed it to Link, who beckoned him to the study door and led Frank towards it. Suddenly, Link turned back and said, "Come out in ten minutes. Don't make any noise."
After saying that, Link opened the door and walked out, still taking Frank with him as they left Osborn Estate.
The two returned to their car, watched for a while, and seeing that Norman Osborn made no move, they drove away.
Link didn't actually need to bring Frank, but he brought him along specifically for Norman Osborn's benefit. Link was famous in the underworld, but he was alone, so he brought Frank along to prevent Norman Osborn from having any ideas.
If Norman Osborn wanted to, it would be easy to find out things like Frank's time in the military and what happened in New York.
These weren't difficult tasks, and for him, this showed that Link wasn't alone and helpless.
Given his own combat abilities, Norman Osborn would have to think twice before doing anything.
Link didn't want to break off relations. He was still counting on Norman Osborn to manage the Osborn Group for him. The reason he wanted to get more than half of the shares was so that he could remove the CEO of the group at any time, which would be the only way to be safe.
Link coveted the Osborn Group for the sake of social status, and of course he wouldn't relinquish control. Even if he didn't want to manage the group, the managers still had to be under his control.
……
Norman Osborn sat in his study, looking at the list Link had left behind, feeling incredibly excited. He could finally escape the nightmare.
However, he was unwilling to hand over the company, but what about life?
He was weighing the pros and cons. After all, his own group was also researching super soldier serum and cross-species gene transplantation technology. Thinking of this, he began to resent Richard Parker again.
However, Norman Oss himself was a good person; he did not transfer his resentment to Peter Parker, and even admired the boy.
The super soldier serum isn't difficult to replicate; the challenge lies in finding another Steve Rogers, as Link has analyzed before.
Howard Stark, for example, once replicated the serum. If we're talking about who understands the serum best, besides its inventor Dr. Abraham Erskine, it's Howard Stark.
After all, he contributed to the creation of Captain America and was present at the event; they must have communicated.
The super soldier serum used by Red Skull was created by the doctor, so why did it also fail?
This is a psychological issue, not a problem with the serum. We can't find a saint like Captain America anymore.
Even if Dr. Erkins, the lazy bum, hadn't died, he would have had a hard time creating another Captain America. Why did he choose Steve Rogers?
It is precisely because of his character that he possesses a strong heart despite his frail body; that is the key.
Norman Osborn was unaware of these things; he was still pondering whether the corporation's super-soldier serum could be used for live experiments.
If he succeeds, he will not be coerced by others; if he fails, he will have a way out. Most importantly, his son will not have to wait for death.
His heart was filled with mixed emotions. Looking at the list in his hand, he couldn't wait for dawn, so he didn't sleep all night.
I made a point of having breakfast with my son this morning, and then took him to school. The Rolls-Royce we were in didn't drive all the way to the school gate, which was my son's request.
As soon as he arrived at the company, he couldn't wait to make a few phone calls to find someone to help him check the situation.
It was easy to find out; it wasn't anything hidden. We got a reply quickly. It was true that these people had a genetic disease. Someone had found them before and was willing to treat them for free.
However, the other party was not a hospital or a pharmaceutical group, but an individual.
Desperate, these people agreed, since the treatment costs were so high that even insurance companies wouldn't reimburse them, as it was essentially a terminal illness.
It actually worked! When I went back to the hospital for a checkup, the attending physician was quite shocked.
Norman Osborne was now certain of the situation, and he ordered his men to continue monitoring the situation to see if these people were truly healthy.
……
Link wasn't in a hurry. He used the lab to study the Osborn family's genes and then created a treatment injection that targeted the genes.
Each family has its own genetic formula and treatment recipe. However, there is a basic formula, and Link has perfected the formula for the gene disease, which can treat all genetic diseases.
This also provides a foundation for the Osborn Group in the future. He did not terminate the lease on the laboratory and plans to continue research. Gene therapy is based on Richard Parker's research, and he now wants to conduct his own research and development.
Osborne Group's main business is pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, and its military industry focuses on soldier serum. Its weapons division develops individual soldier equipment.
However, the results were not ideal, and Link estimated that problems would soon arise. Although he didn't know what universe it was, Peter Parker was only in high school.
Based on the timeline, the events involving the Osborne Group should have occurred before the Chitauri attack.
