Chapter 39 Caught in the Net
Chapter 39 Caught in the Net
Chapter 39 Caught in the Net (Part 2)
"Nine Lama!"
"Um?"
"That's the Sharingan, right?"
On his way to Konoha, in his mental space, Naruto looked up at Kurama, and three tomoe slowly rotated in his right eye's crimson pupil.
Seeing this, Nine-Tailed Fox smirked: "As expected, you even copied this thing..."
Naruto sighed regretfully, "That guy's eyes have special abilities, while I only copied the three tomoe."
"Be content, kid."
Kurama scoffed: "Even among pure-blooded Uchiha, very few can awaken their Sharingan at the age of five... even if it's just a one-eyed one."
"Hmm...Speaking of which, there's something I need to ask you."
"What is it?"
Naruto pointed to his right eye: "In recent years, has any Uchiha clan member died with only one eye? Have you ever seen a single Sharingan eye that has been lost somewhere?"
"Now that you mention it, I do know someone..."
Kurama looked down at Naruto's face, which resembled Eiryu's, and hesitated slightly. "There is indeed such a guy, and he even has some connection with you."
"Who?"
"A brat named Uchiha Obito."
Kurama lowered its body, lost in memories: "That guy was your father's student. I saw him when I was inside Kushina."
"And then?"
Naruto, having already answered the question, saved himself the trouble of going to the Uchiha clan's territory since Kurama had already provided the answer.
"He died later, on the battlefield of Iwagakure. Before he died, he entrusted his left eye to his classmate, Kakashi Hatake."
Nine-Tails chuckled, "Speaking of which, the girl that guy has a crush on seems to be more interested in that white-haired kid Kakashi. Judging from that masked man's reaction just now, you might actually be right..."
"Are those two still in Konoha?"
"The woman is dead. I don't know about the man, but you can go ask him. That kid is pretty strong, he shouldn't die so easily."
While they were talking, Naruto had already used the Flying Thunder God Technique to arrive in the forest surrounding Konoha.
Then he leaped toward the village, bounding and skipping over rooftops and landing on top of a tall, straight utility pole.
"Huh?! Yongdai Mei?!"
On the street below, passersby noticed the figure flying overhead and exclaimed in surprise.
"He's just a kid, isn't he?"
"No, that's not right, that's Naruto!"
"It really looks so similar..."
Noticing the commotion below, Naruto glanced at it and then looked away, his figure rising and falling as he arrived at the foot of a tall apartment building.
This is the Jonin Apartment in Konoha. It houses mostly young Jonin and Special Jonin, who moved here to escape their parents' nagging and pressure to get married, and for peace and quiet.
Naruto heard this from Shikamaru; that kid seemed quite interested in this place…
"Huh? Naruto?"
A passing ninja saw Naruto and was immediately taken aback.
Naruto glanced at the other person and nodded politely: "Excuse me, Kakashi Hatake, do you live here?"
The other person was taken aback upon hearing this, and quickly replied, "Kakashi-senpai does live here, if I remember correctly, on the third floor. However, he works in the Anbu, so I rarely see him."
"OK, thanks."
Naruto went upstairs, sensed a cold chakra emanating from one of the rooms, and knocked on the door.
Ding ding ding…
The door opened quickly.
A headband with a slanted band covering her left eye revealed a dead fish-like, white-haired face. She opened the door, staring blankly at the blond boy in front of her.
Naruto Uzumaki…
Aside from her demeanor, she resembles her teacher in every other way.
A flicker of emotion appeared in Kakashi's dead fish eyes as he scratched his head.
"Um... is there anything I can help you with?"
"I apologize for disturbing you."
Naruto nodded politely: "I was just attacked by a Sharingan user, and my initial guess is that the person is related to your eye, so I hope you can help verify my guess."
"Mine..."
Kakashi instinctively covered his left eye with his palm, hesitated briefly, then gently raised his headband, revealing a three-tomoe Sharingan.
"You may be mistaken. This is a gift from an old friend of mine. That person died in the war. As for the connection with the Sharingan, perhaps the Uchiha clan can give you more clues."
"No need, this is the one."
Naruto looked at the area of his left eye covered by his headband and sensed the same ocular power aura as his right eye.
"I need your help with something, and in return, I'll provide you with clues about the owner of these eyes. How about it?"
Kakashi was taken aback for a moment, then nodded after a brief pause: "Alright, is there anything I can do for you?"
"Come with me."
He raised his hand and placed it on Kakashi's arm. The two of them flashed and appeared in the woods on the outskirts of Konoha Village.
Flying Thunder God...
Kakashi glanced at Naruto, his expression complex.
As expected, this child inherited the teacher's outstanding spatial and temporal talent, and this ninjutsu... was it taught by the teacher?
"Okay, let's try it now."
Naruto lowered his hand from Kakashi's arm, and then an orange-red chakra cloak appeared on Kakashi's body.
"This is... a cloak of tailed beast chakra?!"
Looking down at the solidified, high-quality chakra on his body, Kakashi was startled once again.
"Let me first tell you what information I have."
Naruto said calmly, "The guy who attacked me was a one-eyed masked man. His right eye possessed a space-time eye technique that allowed him to travel through different dimensions."
"Space-Time Eye Technique..."
Kakashi frowned: "I've never heard of the Sharingan having this kind of ability."
"Of course, you're not an Uchiha, how would you possibly know about such things?"
Suddenly, a two-story-tall fox phantom made of chakra appeared behind Naruto, with Kurama (the Nine-Tails) standing with its arms crossed, looking down at the two of them.
"That's the Mangekyou Sharingan. Madara Uchiha once possessed these eyes. However, the eye techniques of each person are different, and I don't know much about them."
"Nine-Tailed Fox..."
Kakashi's expression hardened; he hadn't expected Kurama (the Nine-Tails) to appear at this moment.
And judging from this, he seems to be quite familiar with Naruto?
"Alright, whatever it is, let's give it a try. Let's use Shadow Clone Jutsu as an experiment."
Naruto didn't waste any more words, creating a wood clone: "Your eyes are on your body, you know better than me how to use them, right?"
Kakashi nodded, controlling the excess chakra to flow into his left eye.
The crimson Sharingan, like an insatiable demon, relentlessly devoured the chakra that Kakashi had supplied in the past.
Immediately afterwards, an even colder, yet more powerful, eye power suddenly erupted as chakra was poured in!
Kakashi's eyes widened suddenly. Where his gaze focused, space spun and twisted, instantly teleporting the shadow clone into an unknown space.
The instant the clone disappeared, Kakashi suddenly covered his left eye, collapsed to his knees in exhaustion, and began to breathe heavily. The chakra cloak covering him also thinned considerably.
Seeing this, Naruto transferred another wave of chakra to him.
Kakashi looked at Naruto: "Can you tell me now? About that eye..."
"I'm not entirely sure either, but anyway, that guy suddenly appeared and attacked me, and I killed him in return."
Naruto shrugged slightly, looking completely nonchalant: "I'm not sure if it's the person you're thinking of, but I'm worried that guy might not be completely dead, so I came to Konoha to check if there are any Sharingan left behind."
"As for the news about your eye, it was Nine Lama who told me."
"Nine Lamas is..."
"The name of the Nine-Tails."
"I see..."
Kakashi's eyes dimmed again.
Naruto ignored him and simply waited quietly for the clone to send back a message.
Although I really wanted to remove Kakashi's eye, I realized there was nowhere to put it, and I might need Kakashi's help later, so I could only wait for news from the clone.
If Obito is truly dead, it's not too late to take his eyes off him then; after all, he wouldn't leave behind a threat like Kamui.
Meanwhile, in the Kamui dimension, as Naruto waited...
The moment the clone landed, it activated its senses to the maximum extent.
Then he looked down and noticed a mangled corpse lying at his feet.
"I see…"
Noticing its location, the clone suddenly realized: "No matter how far apart my left and right eyes are, the landing point is always the same in this space!"
Realizing this, he kicked away the half-exposed vortex mask on the corpse's face, revealing Obito's face underneath.
Half of his face was disfigured, and the other half wasn't much better looking either.
Prying open the corpse's eyelids, the clone saw the intact Sharingan in its eye socket. Overjoyed, he suppressed his discomfort and plucked it out of the socket.
Suddenly, a strong sense of malice came from behind!
Nine beautiful fox tails suddenly bloomed from behind the clone, blocking the sneak attack from behind.
At the same instant, the eyeball in his hand gradually turned into an illusion and disappeared.
"What an amazing method..."
The fox tail braced itself against the broken, sharp iron spike, and the clone turned around with a smug grin, only to see a sinister and crazed face.
"To be danced like this by a five-year-old brat...it's truly ugly."
"Why are you here?!"
Obito roared, "Who the hell are you?!"
At this moment, the swirling mask was no longer on his face, and his once fairly regular face was now distorted.
In its left eye position, there is a dull, lifeless blind eye.
Without wasting words, the clone sent out a message and charged headlong towards Obito's direction.
"Nisne, sine, sine!"
One fox tail after another hurled wildly at Obito. Behind the clone, space distorted once more, and two more golden-haired fox tails were teleported in.
"Kakashi..."
Seeing this, Obito's expression became even more ferocious. He grabbed the clone's wrist and stabbed the clone's head with a tree branch.
"Don't get too cocky!!"
On the ground, thick, sharp tree branches surged wildly, lunging at the two clones that had just been teleported in, only to be easily smashed to pieces by a single tail strike.
puff-
The branch pierced through the clone's head.
At the same time, the two chains pierced through Obito's chest once again!
Space distorted again, and two more clones were transported into the Kamui dimension. Golden chains wove together to form a net, binding Obito tightly.
"Damn brat! Do you even know what you're doing? A guy like you..."
"It's really ugly..."
One of the clones scoffed, "No wonder Lin doesn't like you."
The air fell silent instantly.
Within the chain net, Obito, who had been struggling desperately just a second ago, suddenly froze, his only remaining right eye staring blankly at the clone who had spoken.
"He looks like he's about to shatter..."
The second clone next to him muttered quietly.
"Shut up! What do you know? I never expected her to like me!"
Obito suddenly roared, his expression crazed.
That damn brat…where…where did he find out all this?!
"look forward to?"
"He just said he was looking forward to it, right?"
"How pathetic..."
The four clones whispered among themselves, and a crimson stain spread from Obito's neck to his forehead. He felt as if he was about to be exploded by boundless rage.
"Damn brat!!!"
A mournful roar echoed through the void as the four clones firmly held onto the Vajra Lock, refusing to take a single step forward.
It's not that I don't want to, but I really have no other choice.
Obito was quite strong; even without Kamui, he was still at the level of an elite Jonin, and his combat experience was much greater than Obito's.
If it weren't for the ferocious attacks of the nine tails, which prevented this guy from having a chance to form hand seals from the very beginning, Naruto really wouldn't have been able to subdue him.
Most importantly, Naruto wasn't sure if Obito had used Izanagi again. He felt there wasn't enough time to use it during the previous attack, but Obito had a trick up his sleeve.
If Izanagi were to use it again, he'd be using the Kamui Mangekyou Sharingan...
Killing him is easy, but getting the kaleidoscope is not so easy!
"I can't think of any good solutions."
Seeing Obito struggling frantically, the four clones were completely helpless.
Clone Number Two curled its lip: "Tsk, such a powerful eye technique, yet it was given to this kind of trash."
"Shut up! You're the one who's useless!"
Obito gave his second clone a sinister look, then, as if recalling something, a sinister smile crept across his face: "You don't know yet, kid, your parents, the Fourth Hokage couple, died by my hand!"
"I know."
Clone Number Two nodded: "You're quite proud of yourself? No wonder Lin doesn't like you."
I fucking LORD!!!
"You little brat who knows nothing, just shut up!!"
In a single sentence, Obito erupted in fury once more: "What could a brat like you possibly understand? You can be so indifferent to the deaths of your parents, what could you possibly understand?!"
"It's alright, we're not that familiar with each other."
The clone scratched his head, pondering whether to just reach out and pry off the Kamui Mangekyou Sharingan: "As for you, you probably only became like this after Rin died, right?"
"I'm just more awake now..."
Upon hearing Naruto's words, Obito seemed to recall something and suddenly calmed down: "Infinite Tsukuyomi, have you heard of it? A supreme ninjutsu that can soothe all the pain and suffering in the world..."
"It's just a daydream, isn't it?"
"..."
"Is this your idea of being clear-headed?"
"..."
"Trying to get everyone involved in daydreaming?"
"..."
"If everyone stops producing and reproduces, will the species become extinct?"
"What do you know? This was left behind by the Sage of Six Paths..."
"Then why doesn't he use it himself?"
"He doesn't know how? Or does he not have a dream he likes?"
"..."
Today's update! I'm a bit rushed, so I might need to revise it later. Please vote and keep reading! Thank you everyone!
