Chapter 51 Public Security
Chapter 51 Public Security
Chu Er felt that his day had been incredibly unlucky.
After finally getting his spot after Shan Yaowen left, he found himself being targeted by someone else.
Then, during the fight, you don't know who will target you, or two people will attack you at the same time.
After a whole day of searching, not only did we get nothing, but even our net was stolen.
Damn it, how dare they try to steal my place! I'm definitely going to report them when I get back.
Fortunately, he spotted the big grass carp amidst the chaos, and managing to grab it restored some of his health.
Then, out of nowhere, some bastard yelled, freezing him completely in place.
"Well, this isn't yours, I got it from the internet," Chu Er weakly explained when he saw a group of people around him staring at the fish in his hand with ill intentions.
But no one listens to him.
They rushed over in a swarm.
Even the two families that were fighting stopped and turned their guns on Chu Er.
"Kill this fish thief!"
"Damn it! I'll fight from the front, and you'll steal from behind."
"So many people know not to touch our stuff, but you, you steal it and think you can just run away?"
"Damn it, go ask around. I'm the one who always steals from others, when did it become your turn to steal from me?"
"Damn it! You admit it, you stole my fish!"
"Get out of here! Your fish have been stolen and you're still bothering me? Let's get them back first, then we can split them in half."
Chu Er swore that if he ever found the person who shouted, he would tear him to pieces!
Meanwhile, Shan Yaowen, who had shouted the order, was watching the commotion from the sidelines.
To be fair, Chu Er was quite resilient; despite being beaten by so many people, he didn't die.
"Goudan, what brings you here?" Shan Yaowen called out to avoid being discovered by Chu Er and then moved to a different spot, but unexpectedly saw Goudan.
Lin Hao was applauding and cheering for those who were beating Chu Er when he unexpectedly saw Shan Yaowen.
"It's winter, time to rest. Master told me to study at home, and to ask him if I don't understand anything. Aren't you supposed to be fishing here? Why are you empty-handed?"
"Brother Hao." Shi Zhang greeted Lin Hao when he saw him.
"I didn't fish today, there were too many people." Shan Yaowen shook his head. "They were just there to watch the show. That bastard Chu Er reported me, so I retaliated a little."
"Report you? Damn it, that bastard, he and Zhao Laosan were the ones who tricked me last time."
"Alright, that's enough for now. He's already had enough. If you're still not satisfied, find a chance to put him in a sack and beat him up again tomorrow."
Seeing that Chu Er had been dealt with, Shan Yaowen and the others went back.
They were stopped as soon as they reached the village entrance.
He didn't know these people, but he recognized the clothes.
Olive-colored top with two yellow stripes on the sleeves, and red stripes on the sides of the trousers—a Type 83 police uniform.
The identities of these people are self-evident.
"Officer, is there something you need?" Shan Yaowen asked, feeling a little uneasy as he looked at the police officer who had stopped him.
No way, they'd arrest me just for catching a fish?
"Excuse me, comrade, could you tell me where your village's Party Secretary is? We need to speak with him about something." The leading policeman saluted Shan Yaowen and then asked politely.
It turned out they were asking for directions.
Shan Yaowen breathed a sigh of relief.
"Well then, I'll take you there." He glanced at the three policemen leading the horse and clicked his tongue.
Conditions were still quite harsh back then.
Or perhaps their conditions here are inadequate. In other places, even if there aren't cars, there would at least be a three-wheeled motorcycle, or at the very least a bicycle. But here, they still ride horses.
Of course, in this freezing weather, riding a horse might be more useful than those other things, and it's possible that others have them.
When they arrived at the village secretary's house, Shan Yaowen knocked on the door and led them inside, but instead of leaving immediately, he stayed to see what they wanted to do there.
As for Shizhang and Gou Dan, they waited at the door for a while and then left.
They didn't want to freeze at the door in this freezing weather, but after initially not going in, they felt too embarrassed to go in, so they simply went home to warm themselves by the fire.
Anyway, if you want to know what they said, just go back and ask Shan Yaowen.
Li Baoguo had just returned from Sandaohu and changed his clothes when he saw Shan Yaowen arrive at his door with two police officers.
"What's going on?"
Li Baoguo glanced at Shan Yaowen. How come this kid brought the police to our door in the blink of an eye?
"I don't know either." Shan Yaowen shrugged and then stood aside.
"Is this Secretary Li Baoguo?" The oldest policeman in the middle patted Xue and asked the person in front of him.
"Yes, it's me."
"Here's the thing, I'm from the county police station, my name is Deng Boshan, and I need your help with something."
As he spoke, the old policeman took out a piece of paper and gave it to the Party Secretary.
Shan Yaowen caught a glimpse of it from the side, but couldn't make out what was written at all; all he saw was a large red seal.
It must be some kind of document from the county. What kind of document requires three police officers to deliver it?
Li Baoguo glanced at the document quickly, then nodded. "Okay, I'll get the militia to cooperate with you right away. I'll go and notify the village in a bit."
After saying that, Li Baoguo was about to go and call someone when he saw that Shan Yaowen hadn't left yet. He immediately ordered him, "Hey, Wen, go and call the captain over here. Tell him I have something to discuss with him."
Shan Yaowen hadn't expected that before he'd even heard anything, he'd already taken on a task for himself.
"What's so important?"
"Don't ask, just go and call them."
Well, Shan Yaowen had no choice but to go and call for help first.
After he called the team leader over, he discovered that the Party Secretary had called everyone over. Not only the team leader, but also all the Party members who were usually present in the village were there, and even the unpopular women's director was there.
Shan Yaowen wanted to hear what had happened, but the Party Secretary kicked him out under the pretext of a meeting.
When he got home, he was still wondering what the police had come for when his mother pulled him away.
"I heard the police are looking for you? Maybe you should go into hiding for a while."
Seeing his mother's worried face, and the fact that she had even packed his luggage for his escape, Shan Yaowen was completely dumbfounded.
"No, what? I need to go out and hide? Mom, what did you hear?"
"Weren't you taken away by the police at the village entrance? Didn't you sneak back?"
Shan Yaowen rubbed his head speechlessly. "Who told you that?"
"Aunt Lan next door."
"What? I was taken away? They asked me for directions, and I led them to the Party Secretary." Shan Yaowen sighed.
Is it really that you can't stand seeing yourself doing well?
It was just a matter of showing the way, so how did it become that I committed a crime?
"Really, nothing bad has happened?" Mother Shan looked at her son suspiciously. "You're not lying to me."
"Really not." Shan Yaowen sighed.
After Shan Yaowen's explanation, Shan's mother finally believed that her son had not done anything wrong.
Then, she swept away her previous worried look and ran out triumphantly to knock on Aunt Lan's door next door.
"My son didn't do anything wrong; he was just showing the police the way."
"Really nothing's wrong? I knew Ah-Wen wouldn't do anything wrong..."
Shan Yaowen yawned, preparing to rest for a while before going to check on the ranch.
But a short while later, the police knocked on his door.
The first thing he heard after opening the door was:
"I told you that Shan Lao Er had definitely done something wrong. Look, the police have come knocking on our door."
