Chapter 239 239: The Enraged Montgomery's.
" Since it's a god darned war they want, it's a god darned war they shall get!" He said, making no effort whatsoever to his rage.
" Father, please allow me to aid you in this endeavour, I can be the one who leads the first charge, I promise I shall pay waste to their borders and make them regret their wicked actions."
" You can't be serious, and how do you intend to do such a thing?" Snapped Victoria with a look of disdain that instantly unnerved her brother.
Henry took a silent breath to calm himself before retorting with a smile. " Oh my, Sister, are you saying that you'd be a far more greater fit than I?"
" Of course not, only a fool could come up with such an idea." Victoria scoffed before glancing towards her father with a pleading gaze. " Father, all I'm saying is that, perhaps it would be more wise to lend this task to someone far more experienced, I believe a few members of the enforcer knights are far more capable in this regard." She said, to this and undetectable frown emerged on Charles face.
' Master has already informed us to make sure that Henry is the one chosen for this mission, does she really dare to disobey the masters orders....' he thought coldly, slowing seeing this sister of his as a cause for caution rather than a family member. To him the masters words were absolute, and nothing else mattered.
' I can't possibly let Henry win, if he does then the master will lose even more interest in me, if I can just become the rightful heir before the master takes full control over this place, then I'm sure he'll see just how valuable I am.' said Victoria to herself.
Right now, rather than a family gathering, the dinning table suddenly felt like an open battlefield with several different opposing parties, all vying for one thing or the other.
" I believe your words bear some reasoning my dear." Said Edward who let out a sigh the next second. " But I'm afraid this time, I'll give your brother a chance since he was the one who for saw all of this to begin with. " Edwards next words instantly shattered Victoria's plans, causing her expression to falter.
" B-But, father–" she wanted to speak but Edward raised a hand to stop her.
Across the table, Esmeralda said nothing. But the corner of her mouth curved just enough for Victoria to notice. which made a cold light flash past her eyes.
" It is decided." Said Edward, " Henry shall lead the charge amongst several other capable knights." Added the Viscount.
" Thank you father, I promise you won't regret this." Said Henry with a smile, his heart beating greatly, he just couldn't believe that all he wanted was finally coming into fruition.

Meanwhile, within the forest surrounding Rose city, a black blur was busy speeding through the forest at breakneck speed under the cover of night.
Wherever it passed, the vegetation would tremble in the wind.
" Hahaha! I'm finally free!" said non other than Sebastian as he made a break for it.
He'd long since already collected the reward Henry had left for him and stored it in his spatial ring. Rather than sticking around, he saw it best to flee while he still could, being the cautious person he was, he didn't want anything unexpected to happen that would ruin his chances of escape, if the Viscount were to get word that he was actually the only one that survived, who knew whether such news would spur on the man's suspicions and ruin everything.
" With this much treasure, I can finally live a carefree life. Hahaha, maybe I might even stay in the capital for a few years before moving to the countryside and settling down." He thought to himself with glee.
" For a man who dared to betray his comrades, I must say, your grand aspirations turned out to be quite a disappointment." Sebastian stiffened when he saw a pair of purple black eyes in the dark shadow up ahead.
His body stiffened as he came to abrupt stop, a viscous look on his face.
" Who are you!" Screamed Sebastian, yet inwardly, he felt a hint of anxiety all of a sudden, as if his own body honed through countless years of dangerous experiences was screaming for him to flee.
He stared with vigilant eyes as a figure of a white haired man with stunning features stepped out from the shadow ahead, yet what truly came off as striking to Sebastian were his ever present purple black glowing eyes, that seemed like two holes which threatened to suck one in if they stared for too long.
Su Ping said nothing, rather he stared at the space next to him with an indifferent look.
" I've done as you asked, here his is, delivered to you to do as you wish. Now the dept I owe you has been concluded."
" Who the f*ck are you talking to?!" Yelled Sebastian, wondering whether the man was mad and deranged since in his eyes, the figure was talking to nothing but thin air.
Alas, his thoughts threatened to collapse when all of a sudden, a semi transparent looking figure emerged out of thin air, in the space Su Ping had been staring at.
The very figure was non other than the one person he could never forget as long as he lived, the one member of his espionage group he hadn't been able to kill himself, his beautiful Captain, the one woman he obsessed over making his only to fail in the end due to his wicked heart.
And yet, his captain looked nothing like she did the last time he saw her, besides being semi transparent, she now had a malevolent deposition to her, not to mention that rather than clothes, black flames burned continuously on her figure, as if imitating a set of attire, which left much to see to the eyes than they should.
The woman's eyes burned with unimaginable hatred the moment she saw Sebastian, a shrill wail escaped her mouth instantly.
