Chapter 1312 - 1286: Star Media
Although Ye Chen said this, Su Wanyi pouted all the way, looking as cute as a little girl.Ye Chen saw her expression and laughed heartily.
No matter how he coaxed her, it was useless.
At this moment, the atmosphere in the car was a bit awkward, with only Ye Chen talking, while Su Wanyi simply ignored him.
Ye Chen knew he had definitely angered Su Wanyi this time; women really are too petty.
"Oh well, she’s my woman, so I have to coax her properly," Ye Chen thought to himself.
He knew that couples must reconcile the same day they argue, or the conflict will escalate.
Throughout this journey, Ye Chen made a decision, which was to do nothing today except accompany Su Wanyi in whatever she wanted to do.
Of course, the premise was that Su Wanyi had to agree.
"Honey, it’s already noon, let’s go eat something," Ye Chen said.
"Who’s your wife? Stop calling me that," Su Wanyi replied irritably.
Upon hearing this, Ye Chen shook his head helplessly and drove home on an empty stomach.
Arriving at Su Wanyi’s villa, Ye Chen parked the car, then walked around the front to the other side and very gentlemanly opened the car door.
"Your Majesty, please alight," Ye Chen said with a smile.
Su Wanyi ignored him, but her heart was delighted.
In reality, she wasn’t a petty woman; she was just teasing Ye Chen. She wanted to see if after being together for so long, Ye Chen would still pamper her like before.
Without even glancing at Ye Chen, just as Su Wanyi was about to get out, she felt a pair of arms lifting her up.
Ye Chen’s action startled her, Su Wanyi panicked and shouted, "Ye Chen, what are you doing?"
"How could a queen walk on her own?" Ye Chen said with a mischievous grin.
Seeing the expression on this man, Su Wanyi had a bad premonition.
She knew what Ye Chen wanted to do, and her pretty face immediately blushed.
After opening the door, Ye Chen carried Su Wanyi straight to the room.
Su Wanyi’s heart grew increasingly tense, she even closed her eyes.
Now she was lying on the bed with her eyes tightly shut, her heart pounding, waiting for what was about to happen.
Ye Chen stared at Su Wanyi’s strange expression and was puzzled—what was this woman thinking?
Suddenly, he realised something; his face broke into a smile.
Ye Chen knew Su Wanyi must have misunderstood his intentions; even if he wanted to, he couldn’t possibly act on it at such a time.
Having just frightened her, he couldn’t possibly do such things to her.
Ye Chen stood there for a while, observing suspcious Su Wanyi, and said: "You must be hungry, right? I’ll prepare some food for you. What do you want to eat?"
Su Wanyi thought she had heard wrongly and opened her eyes to stare at Ye Chen speechlessly.
"What’s wrong, Wanyi? Why are you looking at me like that?" Ye Chen asked.
"I...you..." Su Wanyi stammered, speechless.
Then her face turned a deeper shade of red, like a ripe apple.
Ye Chen knew Su Wanyi was embarrassed to say it; after all, girls are prone to shyness.
And it’s not the kind of thing one could say out loud.
"Alright, since you’re not saying anything, leave it to me; you rest for a while," Ye Chen said before turning and walking out of the bedroom.
After Ye Chen left, Su Wanyi muttered to herself, "Su Wanyi, what on earth are you thinking about?"
To stop herself from overthinking, Su Wanyi got out of bed and headed to the study.
Only work could make her forget everything—just now was too embarrassing to think about, and just thinking about it made Su Wanyi’s pretty face turn crimson.
Su Wanyi worked in the study, while Ye Chen cooked in the kitchen.
Two People kept to themselves, not disturbing each other.
Ye Chen decided not to order takeout this time; he wanted to make a lavish lunch for Su Wanyi.
But there was an issue at hand, which was that the fridge hardly had any ingredients.
He knew Su Wanyi was busy with work and rarely cooked at home; she either ordered takeout or simply didn’t eat.
Thinking about this made Ye Chen feel a bit heartache; he really wished he could marry her soon, so he could care for her properly.
Although Two People shared a good relationship, Su Wanyi still felt a bit embarrassed.
Whenever Ye Chen suggested that Su Wanyi move to his place or he move to hers, Su Wanyi always refused.
He understood Su Wanyi held traditional values; after all, Two People didn’t have that red certificate or held a wedding yet.
Ye Chen frowned as he looked at the pitiful ingredients in the fridge, with a furrowed brow.
The saying "Even a skillful housewife can’t cook without rice" was utterly evident in this moment.
He opened his phone and used the app to order ribs, chicken, beef, vegetables, and other ingredients.
While waiting for the ingredients, Ye Chen decided to check on Su Wanyi in the bedroom.
After all, having been frightened earlier, her mood likely wasn’t great; even if she ignored him, being by her side might offer some sense of security.
Ye Chen approached the bedroom door, gently pushed it open, but Su Wanyi wasn’t on the bed.
"This girl, not resting properly, where has she gone again?" Ye Chen muttered to himself.
He then heard Su Wanyi’s phone call in the study, undoubtedly job-related.
Ye Chen shook his head helplessly, "Ah, she’s such a workaholic."
He headed to the study to persuade Su Wanyi to take a break and rest in the room.
But just as Ye Chen was about to push the study door open, his hand suddenly froze.
He knew that even if he said it, Su Wanyi wouldn’t obediently listen, let alone the fact that he had already upset her earlier; he didn’t want to anger Su Wanyi again.
Su Wanyi was unaware that Ye Chen was standing at the door; she remained focused on the contract on the screen.
Due to her outstanding abilities, her company’s strength was also widely recognized, prompting frequent collaboration requests, making contracting somewhat plentiful.
To ensure the company’s interests weren’t compromised, she meticulously reviewed every contract to be signed, which naturally increased her workload.
In fact, she could simply leave these tasks to her secretary, but Su Wanyi insisted on being personally involved in everything.
This was why she was so exhausted, often feeling physically and mentally drained.
But after resting overnight, by the next day, she’d be full of energy again, almost like she was fueled with adrenaline.
Ye Chen sat in the living room, waiting for the ingredients, and idly browsed his phone; he was searching for an entertainment company.
The company he sought had to be exceptionally strong; only then could it demonstrate his sincerity and intent.
After some online research, he found the company named Star Media quite satisfying.
"It’s the one," Ye Chen said with a smile.
