Chapter 1400: Teacher Bai
Chapter 1400: Teacher Bai
Xu Ke and Xiao Keyi walked along the path. A lot of people had gathered around them, but after being refused by the couple, they realized it was impossible to get their contact info.
Moreover, these two were a couple, so no one else could get in between them, and people were slowly giving up, though they continued to follow, feeling helpless with so many people around.
Initially, the couple wanted to enjoy some time alone and stroll here, but unexpectedly, they were interrupted, and it seemed these people wouldn’t be leaving anytime soon.
Just as they were about to head back, they suddenly noticed a young man in white standing in their way, panting heavily, his face beaded with sweat. Although he looked disheveled, he was quite handsome.
Cai Kun was stunned by the senior’s appearance. Just as his mentor had said, the senior was even more attractive than people on TV, and it seemed his mentor was right.
"Excuse me, is there something you need?"
Seeing the path deliberately blocked, Xiao Keyi frowned and asked.
Seeing the senior ask, Cai Kun hurriedly scratched his head, stammering, "This, uh—"
He glanced at Xu Ke’s murderous gaze. Was this man so terrifying just because he wanted to ask for the senior’s contact info? He hadn’t even taken any action.
This man seemed ready to eat him alive, but he hadn’t even approached yet.
But this man was so handsome, even better-looking than many drama class guys. No wonder even the mentor said the senior had a great eye and wouldn’t settle for ordinary people.
"Senior, I’m a student of Professor Bai. I’ve heard him mention you many times, saying you’re exceptionally talented and much better-looking than on TV. But why didn’t you continue with your acting major and entered the business world instead?"
Though Cai Kun was struck by the senior’s beauty, he was eager to know why the mentor’s most outstanding student had suddenly switched to business. Why did someone so talented choose to move to another field?
There had been many people trying to talk to them, but no one had asked this question. They were either captivated by Xu Ke’s looks or wanted to chat with Xiao Keyi. No one was interested in this answer.
Even Xiao Keyi was taken aback. No one had ever asked her this question, and this junior seemed really keen to know, so she didn’t hide it.
"As your mentor must have told you, it’s for the family business. The family company truly needed me, so I returned home and gave up on a career in entertainment."
Cai Kun felt a bit disappointed, realizing the reason was indeed for the family business, just as the mentor had said. But shouldn’t someone like the senior pursue their dreams?
Cai Kun found it hard to understand and grew increasingly disappointed, which Xu Ke noticed. This person, just because they’re young, believes everyone should strive for their dreams.
Yet, how many people can pursue their dreams recklessly? There are always other reasons. In this society, one has responsibilities, so not everyone can live easily; sometimes, you have to keep going for those you love.
Unfortunately, Cai Kun was too young, so Xu Ke shook his head, seeing the hurt and disappointment in the woman beside him, wondering if she still thought about her dreams.
"In fact, most of you study this major to achieve your dreams and improve your lives, allowing those you love to live comfortably. Your senior is the same way, striving for the comfort of those she loves."
"You wonder, with such a powerful and wealthy family, why work so hard? But she’s continuing her grandfather’s dream, supporting the entire Xiao Group. That’s her responsibility now. Growing truly comes from balancing pursuing dreams and accepting responsibilities."
Hearing Xu Ke’s words, Cai Kun was even more confused. Does everyone truly bear their own responsibilities? Before university, his parents never mentioned this.
His parents only told him to study hard in school for a future path, never mentioning responsibilities. What were his responsibilities? Cai Kun was lost.
He looked confusedly at Xu Ke, opening his mouth, "Everyone has dreams, so in the end, do they all give up their dreams to accept their responsibilities? If so, what can bring happiness in life?"
Hearing his words, Xu Ke thought, perhaps the young are the happiest now, with no troubles or worries. They don’t understand responsibility, only knowing what to do and pursue.
"When you graduate, you’ll naturally understand this truth. For now, telling you might only dampen your confidence, so I won’t discourage you, allowing you to be an outstanding youth."
Though Cai Kun didn’t understand Xu Ke’s words, he was eager to uncover the truth.
"So you’re saying everyone chooses other careers out of necessity? If there are so many helpless situations, why choose this major at first? Isn’t it something known in advance?"
"If we spent the choice time on other majors, wouldn’t it strengthen those studies? Isn’t that better? I truly don’t understand your point; maybe we just have different ideas."
Xu Ke smiled, seeing Cai Kun still didn’t get it, and didn’t plan on explaining further, taking the hand of the woman beside him, ignoring the gazes around.
"In time, you’ll surely understand, so no need to rush to grasp these truths now. You’ll understand when it’s meant to and that might be the time you’d least want to know."
"Everyone undergoes a growth phase, and the harshest part is it takes away things you possess now, propelling you towards the future."
