Chapter 164 Searching for Batman
Chapter 164 Searching for Batman
Chapter 164 Searching for Batman
Clark asked, "Even the spaceship's technology isn't there?"
"No, most of it is about quantum computers and quantum communication technologies. There's no research in the quantum field compared to those." Link was very disappointed, but there was nothing he could do about the technology tree.
"The quantum realm is a microcosm, or rather, a universe, which is extremely mysterious and unpredictable."
"The concept of time has become blurred in this process, and different regions have different rates of time flow, which is extremely dangerous. However, if you can master this, then time will be in your hands."
At this point, he thought of Kang the Conqueror, who slowed himself down, which was actually a manipulation of time. However, even though he was moving very fast, he did not escape the slowing effect of time.
Recalling the battle, Link said, "These kinds of experiments are dangerous; I can't stay here."
"You remember coming back to help Martha with the farm work during the busy season."
Clark nodded and said, "No problem, I can fly back."
Martha knew the two were leaving, so she prepared a sumptuous dinner. Link was just passing through, and although Clark was her son, Westerners valued independence more.
By then, only she and a dog will be left at home, but the house will be new, the farm tools and machinery will be new, and Link will have paid off the loan.
As a result, I had some free time.
……
The next morning, Link packed his things, all of which he had bought after arriving. This time, he didn't fly away directly, but took a bus to Cinéma and then transferred to a plane to Gotham.
He didn't know what was going on in Gotham, but he planned to go find James Gordon first. Link didn't know where Bruce Wayne was living at the moment.
The Wayne family mansion was now abandoned. Wayne was supposed to be living in a small cabin by a lake, but he didn't know exactly where.
Whether Wayne is currently searching for Kryptonite to kill Superman is unclear.
After all, no damage was caused this time; Link acted quickly and no one was injured.
So, will Batman ever encounter the Flash who has crossed time?
At the Gotham Police Department, James Gordon, though getting on in years, was still working there. Link spotted him from afar and began to follow him, not waiting for him to summon Batman, but rather waiting until he was alone.
He didn't drive home until he finished get off work, but Link blocked his way.
Gordon slammed on the brakes and looked up to find the person in front of him gone. He looked around in surprise but couldn't find anyone. Just when he thought he was seeing things, someone spoke from behind him.
"Detective Gordon!" Link was already sitting behind him.
Gordon was startled and immediately drew his gun, while Link did not stop him, watching the other's movements until the gun was pointed at him.
Link then asked, "Does this make you feel safer?"
"..." Gordon paused, then asked, "Who are you?"
"That's not important. I need you to help me find someone," Link said.
"Looking for someone?" Gordon was taken aback. "If you want to find someone, you can look for missing person notices in the newspaper, or report it to the police station."
"No, the person I'm looking for can only be helped by you. Of course, it would be easy for me to find him if I really wanted to, but I need to do things quietly for the time being," Link said to himself. "So, I don't want to be too conspicuous right now."
"Can you help me?"
Gordon asked curiously, "Who are you looking for?"
"Batman!" Link grinned.
Gordon suddenly realized and said, "You want to go after Batman?"
"No, I'm asking him for help. I need a place to conduct my research in peace, and I also need funding. Batman is very wealthy," Link said. "His help can save me a lot of time, and I need time right now."
"..." Gordon said, "I won't help you."
"Whoosh!" Gordon's gun suddenly disappeared. He looked at his hands in surprise, then at Link's hands.
"Don't put me in a difficult position. If I commit a crime, Batman will likely come out, but that would waste time and interfere with my communication with him." Link pointed a pistol at his forehead. "What do you say?"
"Bang..." The gun went off, and with a "clink," the bullet flattened and fell to the ground. Link caught it and returned it to Gordon along with the pistol.
Gordon stared in astonishment, wondering if this was even human.
robot?
"What do you think?" Link asked again.
"Okay!" Gordon knew that if he didn't summon Batman, the other man might actually keep his word.
He turned around, put away the pistol, started the car, and drove to an old building. "I always use lights to call him, but I'm not sure if he'll come."
"It's alright!" Link smiled. "It's good that he can see it."
After the two went upstairs, Link carried his suitcase and watched Gordon turn on the power switch. A black bat silhouette was pasted on the huge searchlight, casting the bat's shape in the space.
The two waited there. Link put down his suitcase, opened it, took out a cigar, and handed one to Gordon.
Gordon looked at the box, which was indeed full of luggage, not any weapons to deal with Batman.
So he didn't stand on ceremony, took the cigarette and started smoking, the two of them waiting for Batman while puffing away.
Suddenly, Link turned his head and looked up. "He's here."
Batman jumped down and asked in confusion, "Gordon, what's going on here...?"
"He's looking for you!" Gordon pointed at Link. "I have no choice. If he doesn't come to you, he'll commit a crime. This guy is invulnerable, so be careful."
Batman rolled his eyes, then looked at Link, who picked up his suitcase and said, "Let's go, let's find somewhere secluded to talk."
"Are you sure?" Batman asked.
"Of course!" Link nodded.
Batman then ran to the edge of the rooftop and jumped.
Link floated up, and Gordon stared in astonishment as Link flew away.
Link waved to him and then chased after Batman.
After Batman landed, he turned around and saw Link floating behind him. "You can fly?"
"What else?" Link shrugged. "Let's hurry up and go to your house to talk about Mr. Bruce Wayne."
Batman was taken aback, not expecting the other party to know his identity. Moreover, judging from the other party's appearance, their abilities must be extremely powerful, which reminded him of the recent alien incident.
