Chapter 26 Madam Gao

Chapter 26 Madam Gao

Chapter 26 Madam Gao

The game didn't last long; it was a forced arrangement to begin with. However, Link eventually left with a check for one million dollars.

He retrieved his pistol from the doorway, checked it to make sure it was in order, and then got into his car and drove away.

However, he didn't go too far. After driving for a while, he found a restaurant by the roadside, parked his car in front of it, and then got out and went inside.

Link ordered an apple pie and a glass of milk, and listened quietly.

"Fisk, you shouldn't be distracted at a time like this!" Mrs. Gao was clearly displeased with Fisk's behavior. "Our business is at a critical juncture."

"I don't believe my affairs will affect our business," Fisk clearly disagreed. "Besides, this is my personal matter and is not within the scope of our cooperation."

Langley chimed in, "That would be for the best, but for her sake, you smashed Anatoly's head in a door."

"Is this what you mean by 'no impact'?"

Link listened; he knew who Anatoly was—one of the leaders of the Russian gang, the other being his brother Vladimir.

Previously, when the brothers fought the Irish, they were completely outmatched until Fisk's forces intervened, which crushed the Irish gang, leaving them barely clinging to life.

"Vladimir believes the masked men were behind this, and since they keep failing, they'll be kicked out of our team sooner or later," Fisk said. "I will take their place and finish the last piece of the puzzle."

Madam Gao was clearly dissatisfied and said, "Alright, let's leave it at that for now. I hope you keep your word. But who is this Lin?"

Why would he know both Vanessa and Langley?

"Could it be an intelligence agent or someone from another gang?"

Langley shook his head and said, "I just helped him buy $60 million worth of stock. He can't be an intelligence agent. What intelligence agency would invest that much?"

Link smiled slightly upon hearing this, then picked up a spoon, scooped out a large piece of apple pie, and put it in his mouth.

"He played cards with Tony Stark again the other day and won thirty million in just a few hours. How can someone like that be an agent?"

Mrs. Gao nodded slightly. What Langley said was true. No intelligence agency would spend so much money to send an undercover agent in.

Fisk also said, "I met him in Las Vegas when I was discussing the collaboration with Mrs. Alexandra, so he has no problem and there's nothing to worry about."

"Besides, I'll take care of everything."

The three then dispersed. Link finished his apple pie and drank his milk in one gulp. He then drove off and quietly followed Mrs. Gao.

As one of the five fingers of the Hand, Madam Gao is Link's main target. First, locate her drug factory in Hell's Kitchen, then record her as much as possible to uncover the secrets of the Hand. If this is done, the mission will be complete.

He doesn't need to follow closely behind; he can track beyond visual range, so no one can detect him.

They found Mrs. Gao's factory without any trouble. She seemed to care a lot about it, even coming here late at night, as if she lived nearby.

The old woman was using a cane and seemed to have difficulty walking, but Link didn't dare to underestimate her; she was an old monster who had lived for hundreds of years.

Link parked the car a distance away, then walked closer and carefully observed it with his X-ray vision. It was a warehouse with very high ceilings. Link lightly jumped onto the roof, then hung upside down on the edge, and took pictures of the inside with his miniature camera.

Meanwhile, he listened to Madam Gao's movements.

However, Mrs. Gao clearly had no intention of contacting Alexandra. She returned in the evening because of the shipment the next day, rather than simply because she valued it or not.

Link jumped down, landing silently, then quietly left. After listening remotely for a moment, he started the car and drove away.

Back home, Jessica was already asleep. Link went into the dressing room, took off his clothes, went to the bathroom to wash up, and then slowly made his way to the bed and fell asleep.

……

The next morning, Jessica woke up and saw Link lying beside her, which put her at ease. She then got up and went to the kitchen.

She bought some kitchen appliances, took out bread slices and put them in the toaster, and then took out vegetables, ham, peanut butter, and so on from the refrigerator.

When Link woke up, there were already sandwiches and hot milk. Jessica looked at him with a sweet smile, and Link ate heartily.

The taste is pretty good. After all, you're really eating the sauce. Link gave a thumbs up to show his appreciation.

Link then produced a check and said, "I won it yesterday, but there was a problem with yesterday's game. It wasn't my fault; it was a problem between Mr. Fisk and his partner."

"The atmosphere wasn't very good, so it was a bit awkward at the end. This was all funded by Mr. Fisker personally. We'll go to the bank to cash it in a bit, and then we'll go buy a car."

"Is everything alright?" Jessica asked.

"No problem. Mr. Fisk is mainly concerned about Vanessa, but I don't know much about that," Link said. "I was just involved in the game; their problems are none of our concern."

"Okay, I'm going to wash up." Jessica turned to wash up, while Link finished his breakfast, washed the dishes, and got dressed.

The two went to the bank, cashed the check, and Link opened an account for Jessica, deposited the money into her account, and prepared a checkbook.

The two then went to a car dealership, where Link took a liking to a seventh-generation Rolls-Royce Phantom. The main reason for choosing this car was that Jessica couldn't drive.

When establishing a charitable foundation in the future, Jessica, as the manager, must pay attention to her status and position; this is a car suitable for sitting in the back.

Jessica readily agreed, and Link placed the order and paid in full. Now all that was left was to wait. There was no rush, but he could start looking for a driver in advance.

Hiring a driver is not easy. It's not that no one applies for the job, but finding one that meets your requirements is not easy.

Of course, the most crucial issue is trust!

Link placed a job ad in the newspaper, without mentioning salary, but the requirements were very demanding: no smoking or drinking, experience in driving and repairing vehicles, a certain level of combat ability, and the ability to protect the employer's safety, among other things.

They have too many demands, but they haven't mentioned salary at all. Truly capable people should be able to come out here, and the salary won't be low, but some short-sighted people just look down on them.
