Chapter 29 Sniper Preparation

Chapter 29 Sniper Preparation

Chapter 29 Sniper Preparation

Karen Page was in a bit of a bind, after all, the law firm was short of money, extremely short of money, and she hadn't been paid for three months.

Matthew's funds are limited, and he has difficulty maintaining basic operations. The law firm is currently facing a very difficult situation.

"What is your name, sir?" Karen Page asked.

"This is my business card!" Link took out a business card, but it only had a name and phone number on it, without any other titles, which puzzled Peggy.

At this moment, Matthew and Fergie returned. The two were still discussing the case when they pushed open the door and saw Link.

The two were taken aback for a moment, then Karen Page immediately introduced them. After they got to know each other, he was invited to Matthew's office.

All three of them came in, and after Link sat down, he said, "I'm planning to establish a charitable foundation recently because I used to be a police officer, so I want to provide funding for legal aid."

"Police?" Matthew was taken aback.

"Yes, right here at the West Central City Precinct. You should have heard of me. I killed more than twenty people in one night." Link spread his hands.

Virgil Nelson immediately realized and said, "I know, Klin, right?"

"Yes, let's get to know each other formally. You can call me Lin," Link said. "I'm a professional gambler now, and most of my money comes from just two poker games, where I won a total of fifty-five million US dollars."

"Oh my God!" exclaimed Virgil Nelson, "Incredible, such a big game?"

“One of them is Mr. Tony Stark, so you know,” Link smiled. “But that’s not the point. Right now, I hold sixty million dollars worth of Stark Industries stock.”

"There will be dividends every year, and of course, there is also the idea of legally avoiding taxes. In addition, the charitable foundation is managed by my girlfriend."

"The main purpose is to find her something to do, a win-win situation. I had heard of your law firm before, so I came here today to talk about the issue of funding."

Upon hearing this, Matthew Murdoch asked, "Will Mr. Lin get involved in our case?"

"No, but since we're the funders, we'll monitor and verify the case." Link thought of Jessica's hobby, "Once they accept our funding, there's no such thing as keeping the case confidential."

Do you agree with this?

"Of course!" Virgil said immediately. "That's a given. Any charitable grant has that right, Matthew, what do you say?"

"Yes, I agree with that." Matthew Murdoch nodded.

"However, we now have two options," Link said. "First, you can simply accept our funding, which will only be for the cases we fund."

"Secondly, if you accept our acquisition, we will cover all your expenses, including your salaries."

"Of course, as lawyers, you two can own a portion of the shares. After all, it's hard to get rich from this kind of charitable legal aid; the salary is only at the middle-class level."

"However, if we get a big case that can make money, then we can calculate it separately."

This is a problem. Matthew Murdoch hesitated, while Virgil Nelson was more excited. If they acquired the company, they wouldn't have to worry about money anymore.

Funding, on the other hand, is different; it only covers the expenses incurred in the case, and they don't make any money from it.

"Matthew!" Foggy immediately whispered a reminder to Matthew.

Link stood up and said, "I know you all need to consider this. Well then, I'll take my leave. You have my business card; you can call me anytime. You can decide for yourselves between the two options."

"Okay, Mr. Lin, we'll get back to you as soon as possible," Virgil Nelson said immediately. "I'll see you off."

After Link got into the car, he immediately heard conversations inside, but he didn't listen any further and continued searching for the sniper rifle.

This wasn't difficult. He noticed someone moving a batch of weapons, so he curiously followed them and monitored them from a distance.

He was alone, and although everything was covered, it couldn't block Link's view.

Moreover, the man was covered in wounds, and Link immediately thought of the Punisher; all the weapons he was carrying were military-grade.

Civilian weapons are prohibited from being fully automatic, but most of his weapons are fully automatic, or even heavy weapons.

Link smiled and waited silently in the distance until the move was complete. The Punisher then left, placing the items on the rooftop in preparation for the night's operation. The target should be nearby, right?

He didn't need to know the Punisher's actions; all he needed was a sniper rifle. Once the Punisher left, Link went straight to the rooftop, where some weapon cases were covered with tarpaulins.

Link opened only one of the sniper rifles and looked inside. It was a Beret AS50 sniper rifle, using 12.7x99mm caliber bullets.

Upon seeing these bullets, Link laughed; the Purple Man was doomed.

He closed the box, wrapped it in a canvas, checked that there were no security cameras around, and then picked it up and left.

After placing it on the back seat of the car, Link started the engine and drove off towards the location of the purple man.

The area was an affluent neighborhood. Link carefully circled around a few times, observed the situation, and finally chose an office building. He then waited for evening to arrive and called Jessica to tell her that he would be home late.

Link then went to buy some clothes, including hooded sweatshirts, sunglasses, gloves, masks, and so on. Everything he bought was cheap stuff, the kind of cheap street vendor goods that wouldn't leave any trace.

Moreover, they were purchased separately, and then the vehicles were refitted, with the cars parked far away in places without surveillance cameras.

Link was quite satisfied with the lack of surveillance in America; they simply didn't invest much in public facilities—that's just how capitalists are.

When night fell and fewer people were around, Link took his things and followed the planned route to the narrow space between the two buildings. Then, he slowly floated up with his things.

He wasn't used to flying, since he hadn't practiced and didn't have a superhuman suit or cape, so he could only float up.

This was his first time using his flight ability outside, but Link was very observant and wouldn't have captured anything, and there were no surveillance cameras here.

Arriving at the rooftop of the office building he had chosen in advance, Link opened the box, took out the sniper rifle, assembled it, and then adjusted it. Without needing to lie down, he directly aimed the gun at the purple man.

This guy is now sitting on the sofa in the living room. The luxury apartment he chose has floor-to-ceiling windows with extremely wide views, which has become his way of getting himself killed.

This gave Link a wide field of vision for sniping. In order to take down this guy, Link did not fire immediately, but waited.
