Chapter 30 Meeting Nick Fury

Chapter 30: Meeting Nick Fury

The purple-haired man was watching TV, holding a glass of wine and a cigar in his mouth, while the man and woman in the house were cooking. There were no children in the house.

Otherwise, Link would have acted yesterday. Although he is not a saint, he still has some compassion for children.

Dinner was ready. Purple Man got up and walked to the table next to him. Link was waiting for this opportunity and pulled the trigger. Even such a large-caliber anti-materiel sniper rifle could not make his body move at all.

"Crack!" The glass and the purple man's head shattered almost simultaneously, but the man and woman who owned the house were under control and did not cry out. They remained standing by the dining table, waiting for the next instruction.

The purple man's corpse fell to the ground, but Link didn't stop. "Bang bang..."

Link fired continuously at the purple-robed corpses. After running out of bullets, he threw the sniper rifle on the ground, jumped down, and turned to leave after landing.

The remaining issues are no longer his concern, and the unusual behavior of the couple should raise some concerns.

Link changed his clothes, threw them into a trash can, poured in some gasoline, lit it, and then left.

I got back into the car, drove away, and drove around in a big circle before finally getting home.

The anti-materiel gunfire was very loud, but Link was standing on the rooftop, so the loud noise went unnoticed by others. However, the windows of the luxury apartment building shattered, and some glass fell below, prompting someone to call the police.

When the police broke down the door, they were stunned by what they saw, and some of the younger officers immediately turned around and went outside to vomit.

The strangest thing was that the man and woman stood still and ignored the arrival of the police.

……

Link went home and took a shower to get rid of the smell of gunpowder on him, but Jessica could still smell it.

However, instead of asking, she made two sandwiches for Link and heated up some milk.

After finishing their meal, Link told Jessica about the law firm. Jessica became interested and asked many questions, which Link answered one by one. Then the two of them went to bed early.

The next day, Link took Jessica to school, and when he turned around, he suddenly realized that there was nothing left to do, but Coulson called at just the right time.

"Link, you did a good job this time. You don't need to worry about the rest," Coulson said. "The director wants to see you. Go to headquarters tomorrow. There will be a helicopter waiting for you at the branch office."

"Okay, I'll go check out headquarters too," Link said.

Link spent the day leisurely, not caring who would take over. After all, he was all alone, making him feel less like a special agent and more like a day-to-day information broker.

I went out to dinner with Jessica that night, then watched a movie. Later that night, I tried on the quality of the underwear Jessica had bought. The next day, I took Jessica to her training class, while he went to the branch office.

He arrived at headquarters by helicopter, and after getting off the plane, someone took him to Nick Fury's office. Nick Fury was easy to recognize.

"Agent Lin, welcome to headquarters." Nick Fury was very polite, standing up to shake his hand.

"Director, I've been curious about headquarters for a long time," Link said with a smile.

"I understand that, after all, you don't know enough about us yet. But you did a good job on this mission, discovering such important intelligence all by yourself." Nick Fury has a resurrection plan, but it involves extracting substances from the bodies of Kree, and the resurrection process is extremely cruel.

The matter of the dragon bone showed him another possibility, so Nick Fury recalled Hawkeye and Black Widow to cooperate with Coulson in secretly completing the mission.

Link isn't on this trust list yet, but we need to reassure him.

"However, your qualifications are not yet sufficient. Because you are carrying out missions alone, you are being promoted to Level 6 Special Agent."

"You need to keep up the good work and continue to gather intelligence among the upper echelons of New York as a professional gambler, especially among the so-called elites. Some of them may have 084, and you don't know what they might do."

"Yes, I understand, but the circles I'm exposed to are limited," Link said. "They're usually either games where the goal is money or skill."

"We've done the same analysis you've done, but that's how our organization works. We can't wait until something bad happens before we start working on it. Many of our agents are working hard in their areas of expertise," Nick Fury said. "We need to be proactive."

"I have a task for you this time!"

"Yes, Chief!" Link replied cooperatively.

"The military has been conducting experiments in hopes of replicating the Super Soldier Serum, the one Captain America used," Nick Fury said. "A previous experiment went wrong, causing massive damage to the lab, but they completely shut it down."

"However, we did receive some information. They have been looking for someone, and this is his information."

Nick Fury handed Link a document, and after opening it and glancing at it, Link knew the details.

Dr. Bruce Banner, a super genius with seven doctoral degrees.

"This man was in charge of the experiment, but he disappeared after the experiment went wrong, and the military has been looking for him ever since," Nick Fury said. "But there was no news. Finally, one of their teams went to Brazil and caused quite a stir there."

"But because it was nighttime and the infrastructure there wasn't good, we didn't get any valuable intelligence."

"However, our people have discovered Dr. Bruce Banner's whereabouts. He has secretly returned and is currently in New York."

"I want you to approach him and find out the specifics."

"After all, the scene of that experimental accident was extremely destructive, but it wasn't caused by an explosion."

"Understood, I'll get back and start the operation immediately." Link wasn't afraid of the Hulk, but he didn't want to expose his abilities because of the Hulk, so the best way was to make contact with him beforehand.

"Very good, let's go visit the headquarters!" Nick Fury was very satisfied.

Link took the documents and turned to leave. Someone was waiting for him outside—a very tall woman.

"Hello, I'm Maria Hill, the director's adjutant," the other person introduced me.

"I think I don't need an introduction, hello Agent Hill." Link shook hands with the other party, who then gave him a tour and introduced some of the various departments, but the classified parts were not covered in this tour.

Link had lunch here at noon, and then took a helicopter back to the New York branch in the afternoon before driving home in his own car.
