Chapter 54 One Shot Kills

Chapter 54 One Shot Kills

"It seems we have to protect Stark," Coulson made up his mind.

Link said, "Then we don't need to keep an eye on him anymore. You just need to protect Stark, and when he makes a move, you can just grab him."

"I don't have time to keep an eye on him all the time. After all, I have a girlfriend who doesn't know I'm a secret agent."

"Okay, you don't need to keep an eye on Stanislav anymore. I'll send people to protect Stark." Coulson believed they had grasped the key point, and Link's analysis made sense. He now needed to report to the director.

Link also thought that this was fine. After all, they were agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and since Stanislav couldn't activate the Iron Monger, they were just ordinary people.

After hanging up the phone, Link drove back to the villa, and the two tried out a new form of exercise in the pool that night.

The water resistance was great, so they could exert more force and even tried it underwater.

With no missions to perform, Link continued to use S.H.I.E.L.D.'s sports car, taking Jessica sightseeing in Los Angeles. It was their first time there, so naturally they wanted to enjoy the sights.

Especially Hollywood. Link has little interest in investing in Hollywood because it's not a place that just anyone can invest in.

No matter how well a movie does at the box office, they can still make it a loss for you, so Link has absolutely no interest in it.

There were indeed many beautiful women here, but Link could only look around. Jessica was the most suitable woman for him. They had a lot of fun, and before they knew it, half a month had passed.

That evening, they were watching the news at home when a gold and red painted Iron Man appeared on the screen. He had gone to Ethan's hometown and eliminated a group of terrorists.

Link knew that Stanislav was probably about to make his move, and once Stanislav was arrested, Link could take Jessica back to New York.

……

"Link, something's happened!" Coulson called one evening.

Link asked curiously, "What is it?"

"Stanny has obtained Stark's power source," Coulson said. "You need to come to Stark Industries' factory immediately; we need you."

"..." Link was confused. "How could that be?"

"Stop asking, just come on over!" Coulson then hung up the phone; the other end was very noisy.

Link was speechless. He quickly got up, told Jessica, then went to the storage room, took out a long box, and immediately drove away from the villa. The sports car engine roared away from Beverly Hills.

Driving at high speed, the sports car was pushed to its limits in his hands.

As he approached the factory, he heard a loud explosion ahead. Instead of continuing, he looked at the surrounding buildings and drove straight towards a large building.

He got out of the car, picked up his suitcase, and went straight inside. He took out his identification, then activated the controller, and his identification changed to that of the FBI.

He grabbed a security guard and said, "FBI, I need to get to the rooftop right now, quick!"

The security guard was taken aback, then looked at his ID and immediately nodded. He then led him to an elevator, inserted the key, locked the elevator, and headed straight for the top floor.

Link went to the rooftop, opened the box, took out the sniper rifle, assembled it, stood at the edge of the rooftop, and aimed directly at the two Iron Men in the distance.

Link couldn't figure out how Stanislaw managed to break through S.H.I.E.L.D.'s protection and obtain Stark's energy source.

However, he won't reveal his superpowers. Now let's see if the villain will die from talking too much.

The security guard stood behind him, gazing at the Iron Man battle in the distance, and shrank back slightly in fear. Link didn't chase him away because there was no need.

After adjusting the optical sight, Link waited patiently. He didn't need to consider wind speed, temperature, or humidity; he only needed to envelop the bullet with his bio-field.

Finally, the two Iron Men landed on the factory roof. For some unknown reason, Stark activated his armor, revealing half his body. "Bang..."

Link pulled the trigger instantly!

Stanislaw was spouting nonsense, "I've never liked anything like this, but I have to say, I really love this armor..."

Tony Stark was lying on top of the electromagnetic arc reactor, looking up at Stanislavsky, when suddenly Stanislavsky's head exploded.

Stark was startled. "OMG!"

Link holstered his gun, took out his phone, and said, "Coulson, Stanislavsky is taken care of. You need to tell me later how you got him to take the stuff."

"Okay, see you later." Coulson hung up the phone. Now was a good opportunity to get close to Stark.

Link put away his phone, then packed up his sniper rifle, looked up at the security guard, and said, "Good job. Now let's go down!"

"Don't tell anyone. Just wait and see Stark Industries' press conference."

"Okay, okay, no problem, sir." The security guard's eyes were full of admiration. To kill someone from such a distance with a single shot, he must be an elite FBI agent.

Link carried the suitcase back to the car, started the engine, turned around, and drove straight home.

……

"Honey, what's in here?" Jessica had a very detective's mind, and some of Link's actions seemed illogical, especially tonight.

Just now, as Link hurriedly left with his things, Jessica started watching TV. The battle between two Ironmen was big news in Los Angeles, and the TV station wouldn't miss it.

Many helicopters were deployed, including those from various television stations. Jessica watched the live broadcast, and Link's sudden departure made the shrewd Jessica uneasy.

"This is a sniper rifle." Link opened the case generously. "I'm an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Link took out his identification and handed it to Jessica, which caught her off guard. "I don't suspect anything of you..."

She tried to explain hastily, but Link laughed and said, "You'll find out sooner or later. You said you like to get to the bottom of things."

"I used to be a police officer. I was recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. at a poker game in Las Vegas. They've been keeping an eye on Stark."

"I did consider it when they recruited me. I prefer exciting jobs, but I don't want to reveal my extraordinary abilities."

Link then explained what S.H.I.E.L.D. was, and concluded by saying, "Joining them will help me understand this world, while also protecting my own secrets."

"Of course, if anyone really threatens us, I will take action."

Jessica felt relieved, hugged Link's waist, and rested her head against his chest. "I will train hard too, so that I won't become your weakness."
