Chapter 55 Repaying Favors
Link stroked Jessica's hair, then picked her up and rushed to the gym.
The outside world was irrelevant to them; the two were locked in a fierce battle, and the rubber floor was there to absorb shock and prevent the noise from getting too loud.

The site was cordoned off, and Tony Stark didn't let Pepper Potts blow up the electromagnetic arc reactor, so the situation wasn't too bad.
Coulson stepped forward and said, "Mr. Stark, may we talk now?"
"Next time..." Stark began to refuse.
"Mr. Stark, the public needs an explanation for what happened here," Coulson said. "My colleague just shot and killed Stanislavski, and we need to find a cause of death for him."
"Alright, tomorrow!" Stark understood that things couldn't be ignored, given the large number of helicopters in the sky.
"Okay, we'll handle the situation." Coulson nodded.
The scene was quickly brought under control. Iron Monger's armor was not destroyed, but Stark had just removed the power source, rendering Iron Monger ineffective.
Coulson didn't take it directly, but had someone put it back in the factory themselves; what they wanted wasn't a suit of armor.
Nick Fury is not short-sighted; many of his ideas are far-sighted enough. However, his ideas lack the corresponding strength to support them. His last trump card is wandering around the universe, but he never returns to Earth.
At the press conference the following day, Tony Stark still declared himself to be Iron Man. Link and Jessica were in the villa, huddled together on the sofa, watching this scene.
Jessica asked first, "Will the stock go up?"
"Yes, it will go up a lot later, we'll make a fortune." Link laughed loudly, "But we can pack our things now, we need to go back to New York."
"Okay, there must be a lot of things to catch up on regarding the foundation." Jessica immediately got up and hurriedly ran to pack her luggage.
Link then took out his phone and called Coulson. "Coulson, how's the situation?"
"The scene was a complete mess, but thankfully, I finally had a chance to talk to this Iron Man," Coulson said. "Now it seems we have the answer to how he escaped, and the next step is up to the director."
Link said, "Then I'll go back to New York."
Coulson said, "Mr. Stark wants to see you. Although he won't admit it, you did save his life."
"Sure, it's been a long time since I've seen him." Link wasn't opposed to the meeting.
Coulson added, "He's planning to give the Stanislavski-made suit of armor to S.H.I.E.L.D., but he'll only provide the finished product for the energy manufacturing process. Do you think it's possible for us to get the manufacturing method?"
"Or will it be discovered through research?"
"Don't even think about it." Link immediately dismissed Coulson's idea. "Energy is the core issue, so he wouldn't be stingy with a suit of armor. He definitely wouldn't want that suit; using it to repay a favor is the best option."
"Don't think Stark is a fool; he's very shrewd, just a bit cynical."
"He's too arrogant; he just uses things he doesn't care about to repay favors."
"That makes sense!" Coulson trusted Link's judgment. This young man's psychology was terrifying; he could see through everything. "Then tomorrow morning at ten o'clock, you will go to Stark's house. He will be hosting lunch for you."
"You can bring your girlfriend!"
"No problem!" Link then hung up the phone. He hadn't expected Stark to give him the armor. It was a good choice, giving him another way to fight.
"Jessica..."
Link ran to Jessica and told her not to pack everything up, because they had an appointment tomorrow!

The next day, Link drove Jessica to Stark's house. The gate opened automatically, and the car drove in. When they arrived at the villa's entrance, Pepper Potts was waiting for them.
After getting out of the car, Pepper Potts paused for a moment, then asked, "Are you Miss Jones?"
"Yes, Miss Booz," Jessica said with a smile, extending her hand. "The charity foundation was set up by my boyfriend; I'm just in charge of managing it."
"I see, welcome, please come in!" Pepper Potts led them into the villa, where Tony Stark sat on the sofa with a glass of wine.
Seeing Link, she was somewhat surprised. "Link?"
"It's me, Tony!" Link greeted him. "After returning from Las Vegas, I was recruited, and I thought the job would be interesting, so I accepted."
"This really surprises me!" Stark said in shock.
Pepper Potts, standing nearby, was also quite surprised. "You two know each other?"
"By the way, this Mr. Lin is also the owner of a charitable foundation, and their foundation holds 10 percent of Stark Industries' shares."
"Wow!" Stark was even more surprised. "Come on, let's have a good chat. You really have quite a few identities!"
The two sat down, and Pepper poured them drinks, while Link introduced himself.
After listening, Stark said, "Isn't it a waste for you to be a secret agent?"
"No, I like this job, it's very interesting," Link said. "With Stark Industries stock, I don't need to worry about money. I can do what I love, and this job is very exciting."
"Also, thank you for the gift!"
"It's nothing!" Stark waved his hand dismissively. "Now it seems like giving it to you isn't a bad idea. At least you're a shareholder, and a major shareholder at that."
"Your judgment is very accurate. The stock price has now returned to its original level, but it will rise even more in the future."
"Of course, I have faith in you," Link said. "And I will support you. The Foundation will later give you voting rights on the board of directors."
"This decision was absolutely right. Let's have lunch!" Stark was very satisfied. The four of them had lunch together, and then Link left with Jessica.
The two of them drove straight home without discussing the armor further. Link didn't have any particular interest in the armor, nor did he like this particular suit, and besides, having the armor would only cause more trouble.
He joined S.H.I.E.L.D., and even the future Avengers, not to become a superhero, but simply to get to know the situation.
It's good as it is now, and Link guesses Nick Fury will give this suit of armor to Phil Coulson.
This is a good result. After all, Nick Fury trusts Phil Coulson more, so improving his fighting ability and even having him join the Avengers is a very good choice.
