Chapter 57 Frank Castle
Chapter 57 Frank Castle
Chapter 57 Frank Castle
He was very alert. When he heard the door open, he took out a pistol, hid it behind his back, and then quickly approached the door.
Link pushed open the door and saw Frank Castle blocking the entrance. "What do you want?"
Link laughed and said, "You live on the rooftop?"
"Yes, this is my territory, and I don't allow anyone else to enter." Frank Castle acted like a homeless person trying to take over the rooftop as his residence.
Link wasn't going to beat around the bush and said directly, "The Beret AS50 sniper rifle you provided last time was very useful; the large-caliber bullets suited my taste perfectly."
The Punisher's pupils contracted, and he immediately drew his right hand from behind his back, pointing the pistol at Link's head.
Link didn't move at all, still smiling at the other person, which puzzled Frank Castle.
Link said, "Relax. If I were here to deal with you, you would be dead already."
"I just wanted to have a chat with you."
"What are you going to talk about?" Frank asked.
Link looked at the other person and asked, "Is this all we're going to talk about?"
Frank stepped back a few paces, clearing the doorway. Link walked onto the rooftop, closed the door, surveyed the situation, and then leaned against the door without going inside.
"Let's talk about your recent actions. You've been disrupting the security of Hell's Kitchen," Link said.
Frank was taken aback, then asked sarcastically, "Are you from the NYPD or the FBI? You used my sniper rifle to smash someone to pieces last time."
"Yes!" Link nodded in agreement. "It was an unofficial operation. If you have detailed information, you should know the situation on the ground."
"The person I killed wasn't an ordinary person; he could control others with his words, making them do whatever he wanted."
"This person has always been very secretive, because most people don't remember being controlled by him, and even if they do, their memories are very vague, and they have no idea that they were being controlled."
"Even if someone said it, no one would believe it."
Frank was stunned when he heard this. Could there really be such a person?
"This man's codename is Purple Man, his real name is Zebdia Kilgrave. His parents were scientists who used him for experiments," Link said. "An accident created a virus that infects anyone who gets close to him, making them obey his commands."
"I believe you should understand how dangerous this person is."
Frank was quite puzzled and asked, "So you really work for the government?"
"May I have my ID?" Link lifted his suit jacket, and Frank nodded.
Link reached for his badge and opened it; Frank didn't recognize the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo.
Link stated, "The Strategic Homeland Defense, Attack and Logistics Agency is not a government agency, but a global organization that specializes in dealing with these specific people and items."
"So there are a lot of people like that?" Frank didn't know about this organization, but he didn't think Link was lying, because there was no need for him to.
Wilson Fisk is now known as Kingpin, which is what the Hell's Kitchen gang calls him, and such a person wouldn't use that excuse to approach him.
Instead, they directly used force to eliminate him.
"Not a lot, but not a little either!" Link said. "Some people are law-abiding, even upholding justice, like that guy who likes to come out at night."
"Ah, I know, people called him Daredevil, but he's gone now." Frank naturally knew about Daredevil.
"It didn't disappear; rather, what he hoped for happened: Hell's Kitchen became safer, and some criminal activity decreased," Link explained. "Of course, your case isn't actually under our department's jurisdiction; I just personally admire you."
"Let me join you?" Frank asked.
"Of course not, you don't fit our needs." Link shook his head. "I only sympathize with your personal experiences and admire you as a person."
"Sympathy?" Frank gave a bitter smile. "If you're so powerful, why don't you fight crime?"
Link shook his head and said, "Our organization belongs to the World Security Council and is Earth's defense line, so we don't target ordinary criminals. You should know that aliens are much more difficult to deal with."
"Aliens?" The news Frank heard today was enough to shock him for a whole year. "Are you sure you're not kidding?"
"Of course not, otherwise what are we defending against?" Link spread his hands. "Aliens came to Earth a long time ago and used humans for experiments."
"Then they left, leaving behind some things that were insignificant to them but deadly to us."
"An alien bacterium, once it spreads, could kill all of humanity on Earth; or even an alien energy source could blow up the entire planet."
"Most importantly, some aliens survived, and they have very long lifespans, and they are still hiding among humans."
"These are all problems we need to address. Why don't we deal with ordinary crimes?"
Frank then asked, "Since you're all so busy, why are you targeting me?"
"It's Fisk, Wilson Fisk found me," Link said frankly.
Frank's grip on the gun tightened again. "Don't be nervous!"
Link continued, "My cover identity is a professional gambler. Because I'm good with firearms and psychology, I was recruited by chance. I was kind of a latecomer. I was previously an NYPD officer."
"After my internship, I was assigned to the West Central City branch. You should have heard of me; I killed more than twenty gang members."
Frank suddenly realized that he had mentioned an Asian police officer who killed more than 20 people, was subsequently wanted by the Irish gang, and ended up being targeted by the NYPD and fell from grace.
However, the Asian police officer then disappeared, apparently because he had been recruited.
"Fisk's current transformation is my idea, which has gradually reduced the crime rate in Hell's Kitchen."
"He asked me to analyze your psychological state, so I made an excuse and took on your problems."
Frank asked, "You want to stop me?"
"Yes, you're doing this all for revenge, but you've chosen the wrong target," Link said. "You think it's a gang fight that affected your family, but that's just a cover. Their real target is your whole family."
"What?" Frank was taken aback. "Are you sure?"
