Chapter 60 Psychological Offense

Chapter 60 Psychological Offense

It's true what they say: "Heaven has a path, but you choose not to; hell has no gate, so you willingly walk into it."

This guy was clearly worried that their affair would be exposed, so he came to see if any evidence had been left behind, and also to investigate the cause of Billy Russell's death.

Although the body was burned, an autopsy would easily reveal what Billy Russell had gone through.

However, the autopsy has not yet started. There are not many coroners in the US, and they are in short supply. There are many murder cases here, and the coroners are too busy to handle them all.

William Roslin didn't have that much patience, but he was a CIA agent, and in New York, the NYPD didn't care about him either.

This made William Rosling very anxious. He was now a mid-level CIA officer, but it was still useless in New York. They didn't have law enforcement authority in the country and couldn't even take over the case.

He was now in a dilemma, but this gave Link and Frank an opportunity.

……

The next morning, after Jessica left the apartment, Link called Frank over. Frank came on foot; his previous car had been stolen and had now been disposed of.

The two got into Link's SUV. Frank looked curiously at the small armory in the back and asked in surprise, "Is this your equipment?"

"Yes, my public identity is that of a professional gambler. I once fought a high-stakes game, and my nickname outsiders are Death." Link said while driving, "I'm skilled in shooting and throwing knives, and I'm extremely accurate."

"So the bureau got me this vehicle, which is like a mobile arsenal. All these firearms are for my use."

"Of course, these are all recorded, so yesterday I used a throwing knife, which is easy to retrieve and doesn't leave too many traces."

Frank nodded and said, "I understand. I have quite a few weapons, but most of them are military-grade. You can let me know if you need them."

"Okay, I won't stand on ceremony with you, after all, I've done you a huge favor." Link smiled, then said, "Roslin is in New York, he's here to handle Russell's matter, but now he's waiting for the autopsy."

"I've located him. Now we'll go and take him away. But do you have any resources available?"

"Yes, there are many small factories in New York that have gone out of business and are now abandoned. We can find any one," Frank said. "But how do we get rid of it?"

"He's probably on high alert right now, so it won't be easy for him to take people away silently."

"Don't worry," Link said. "Leave this to me."

"Just stay in the car and don't let him see you. I'll take care of the rest."

Soon, they arrived at the hotel where William Roslyn was staying. Link looked around and saw that William Roslyn was getting ready to leave.

He remained seated in the car, while Frank sat in the back seat, holding a gun.

Link used his X-ray vision to observe the target's movement, and as the target was about to leave the hotel, Link got out of the car and went to meet him.

"Agent William Roslin?" Link blocked the other's path and asked.

William Rosling came alone. Although he was now a mid-level CIA officer, his relationship with Billy Russell was a secret and could not be easily known.

"Who are you?" Roslin looked at Link warily.

Link pulled out an ID. "FBI, we need to talk about Billy Russell."

"I don't think we have anything to talk about." Roslyn had no intention of talking at all.

"Really?" Link laughed and asked, "Then why are you, a CIA agent, here investigating his death?"

"Is it related to what you're doing in the Middle East?"

Upon hearing this, William Roslyn had no choice but to take it seriously. He frowned and looked at Link, saying, "We've only ever collaborated overseas. I'm here in a private capacity to witness his death."

"Besides, things overseas are none of your business."

"Indeed!" Link nodded, then said, "We don't care what you do overseas, but are you only overseas?"

"We need your cooperation this time. Once things get to the point where we have to tear off all pretenses, we won't hold back."

"I don't know you..." Roslin continued to deny it.

Link interrupted him directly, "A corpse? Do I need to say anything more?"

"Since you brought these items back to the country, are they now within our jurisdiction?"

"..." William Roslyn glanced around instinctively, but didn't find anything unusual. He then looked at Link again. "So you're going to investigate me?"

"Not for now!" Link said. "We don't know exactly who's involved yet, but it's not something you can do alone."

"How far the investigation will go depends on what my superiors think."

William Roslyn frowned deeply; he was in a state of panic, and this was exactly what Link was planning.

The location he chose, the angle where there were no surveillance cameras around, were all things he observed after parking.

Including the location where he parked, there is not much surveillance in the United States to begin with, but the hotel where the other party was staying had surveillance cameras, so Link could not go in to look for him.

Link wasn't in a hurry. After all, William Roslin had come to New York to find out the truth, and he couldn't stay in the hotel forever. He would keep urging the autopsy to be performed.

Now, he is launching a psychological attack, using the severity of the situation to break down the other person's psychological defenses, causing them to lose their ability to think, thereby achieving his goal of manipulation.

Link didn't give the other person much time. After observing their expression and assessing their mental state, he said, "Could you come with us?"

"Billy Russell's body was taken away last night and an autopsy was performed. His final fate was not good."

"What?" Roslin became even more nervous.

"Come with us and take a look. We can give you a copy of the autopsy report, but we need to exchange conditions." Link spoke in a bargaining tone. "As for whether these conditions are to be negotiated between us or by our superiors, we can't decide that."

"Furthermore, the key point is who did it and what specific intelligence they obtained, and that's still our task."

Roslyn nodded and said, "Okay, I'll go with you first. I need to see the autopsy report."

"No problem, but I doubt you can glean anything from the method, because it was purely for venting anger." Link turned and led the way, while continuing to talk to distract the other person.
