Chapter 61 Rand Group
Upon reaching the car, Link opened the back door. Roslin, preoccupied, looked up just before getting in and suddenly noticed someone inside pointing a pistol at him; a silencer was mounted on the car door.
Link pushed him from behind, sending him flying upwards. Link's strength was something Roslin couldn't withstand.
"Bang..." The car door closed, Link walked around to the driver's seat, got in, started the car, and drove away.
William Roslyn recognized Frank at this point, after all, it was this guy who had blinded him in one eye.
"Did you kill Russell?" Roslyn asked.
"Yes, you ended up the same way," Frank said. "It was for my wife and two children."
"I didn't arrange this," Roslyn tried to deny, while simultaneously thinking of a way to escape.
But Frank wouldn't listen to him. He chuckled hoarsely and said, "It doesn't matter anymore. I wanted to kill you back then, but I couldn't, so I chose to leave."
"But you guys clearly don't want to let me go. It was all wishful thinking on my part that I thought leaving would solve everything..."
Roslyn hurriedly added, "I'm just a nobody. The higher-ups think you're a threat, and there's nothing I can do about it. This was Russell's doing."
"Shut up!" Frank suddenly roared. "Don't even think about covering this up. Think carefully about what you can say later!"
William Roslin was not good at fighting, Frank was a former elite Marine, and although he was an agent, he was more of a strategist. Today, he trusted the other party so easily.
He glanced at Link, only able to see his profile. This guy had made him lose his composure; it was a psychological attack. He was a master!
For a moment, William Roslyn couldn't find a way to escape!
Soon, the car arrived at a factory area and stopped in an abandoned factory building.
The three got out of the car. William Roslyn was about to talk, but Frank couldn't wait. He opened fire, hitting Roslyn in the knee with both shots.
Screams echoed through the empty factory. Only then did Frank step forward to search Roslin, taking all his belongings and weapons. He then threw away his pistol and began his revenge with his fists.
William Roslyn was still begging for mercy, shouting, "You can't afford to mess with the people behind me, let me go~ I can cover up Russell's affair."
Frank wouldn't listen to him. The skin on the back of his hand was already cracked, but he kept going and eventually beat William Roslyn to death.
Link walked over from behind and patted Frank on the shoulder. "He's dead."
"Huff, huff..." Frank gasped for breath and slumped back down. Link grabbed him by the back of his collar and gently put him down. Frank lay on the ground.
This time he didn't cry, but he seemed deflated, lying on the ground in a daze, his gaze unfocused.
Link took out cigarettes, lit one, and slowly smoked it.
It wasn't until more than ten minutes later that Frank finally got up and asked, "Will this cause you trouble?"
"No problem. Although it's difficult for us to deal with the people behind him, they'll back down on their own once they find out about S.H.I.E.L.D.," Link said nonchalantly. "Alright, you've vented enough. Go wash up, I'll get you a towel."
Link turned and walked toward the car, then came back with a towel and tossed it to Frank, telling him to find water himself.
Link searched around and got some gasoline, then disposed of the body to cover his tracks.
The two then left. Frank had gotten his revenge, and he would be calmer now, but his guilt would not lessen. Perhaps time or a major event would change things.
……
A few days later, Wilson Fisk hosted Link and Jessica again. Link wasn't quite sure what Fisk was thinking, but he still went with Jessica.
Vanessa, now radiant, first embraced Jessica, then Link, with the Western-style courtesy.
"Welcome," Vanessa said. "Wilson wants to hear your opinion; he always values it highly."
That was just a polite remark, but Link still said politely, "It's your own choice; I'm just offering some advice."
After they were seated, a waiter poured them drinks. Fisk raised his glass and said, "It's a pleasure working together between the two charitable foundations. Cheers to our cause."
"..." After the four of them finished their toasts, they each took a small sip.
Fisk cut to the chase, saying, "I'm currently preparing to collaborate with the RAND Corporation. What do you think?"
Link was taken aback, then asked, "Why did you suddenly decide to cooperate?"
"It's a long story," Fisk then recounted the details.
The Rand Corporation originally belonged to Wendell Rand, but fifteen years ago, he, his wife, and son disappeared in a private plane. After the disappearance, the search and rescue teams could not find the plane that crashed, so they could not declare them dead. Therefore, the shares of the Rand Corporation were put into trusteeship.
Now, Wendell Rand's son, Danny Rand, has returned, proven his identity, and reclaimed his shares, which now exceed 51 percent.
Harold Mitcham was a friend and partner of Wendell Rand, as well as a major shareholder of the Rand Corporation. After Wendell Rand's downfall, he took over the management of the Rand Corporation.
He has a son, Ward Mitcham, and a daughter, Joey Mitcham, who later grew up and joined the group.
However, at this time, Harold Mitcham was diagnosed with a terminal illness and later died.
However, this person was not actually dead; he was still alive, but living in secrecy and never showing his face.
But suddenly he appeared and frantically searched for the hand and the meeting, and found Fisk here, which Fisk did not know.
He truthfully told the other party that the hand and the meeting had disappeared overnight, and the specific reason was unclear.
"You've met Mrs. Gao before. The Hand and the Society is the organization she belongs to. They were the ones who supported me financially before, but they disappeared overnight." Fisk's expression was not good.
After all, this matter was too terrifying. He had no control over Hell's Kitchen and hadn't detected anything at all. Just thinking about it terrified him.
"I know some things, but not all," Link said. "And then?"
"Then Harold Mitcham died, and this time it was really over," Fisk said. "It seems his son knew about it, but his daughter didn't, and they even had a public argument about it."
"But none of that matters. What matters is that after Danny Rand found out, he came over to ask me about the Hand and the Association."
