Chapter 94 The Avengers
In reality, the Infinity Gauntlet is simply made of superior materials, capable of holding the energy of six Infinity Stones. However, if the energy becomes too great, such as causing the Infinity Stones to destroy themselves, even the Infinity Gauntlet cannot withstand it.
Thanos's body had suffered severe damage, and Link estimated that he could withstand using the Infinity Stones to make a wish, but destroying the Infinity Stones themselves was still a difficult question to answer.
"Alfredo, do you have gamma rays?" Link asked.
"No, sir, not a trace of energy is emanating from it," Alfred replied.
"Then scan the ring," Link said.
"Scanning..." Alfred then said, "Sorry, unable to scan."
Link's lips curled up slightly; he was quite satisfied. Sure enough, the outer shells of the Infinity Stones were actually used to access the stones.
Under normal circumstances, if it were in its original state, it would be impossible for the average person to use it.
Its outer shell is more like an energy extraction device, drawing energy from the Infinity Stones for human use.
If one uses a gem, one must bear its energy. Link could use the Space Stone at this point, but there's no need.
He said with a smile, "Open the seal."
"Yes!" Alfred opened the studio.
Link got up and went over. Jessica had already poured him a drink and prepared a cigar. Link kissed his girlfriend, then sat down on the sofa and leaned back.
……
"Director, it seems the Tesseract is indeed broken." Coulson had already emerged from the Iron Monger. After all, the Iron Monger was large enough that it was more convenient to wear than Tony Stark's Iron Man suit.
What lies before them now is a cube pieced together from two fragments; it is transparent, and the blue color from before was the energy of the Space Stone.
Nick Fury examined it closely, then asked, "Is the energy involved really that strong?"
"Yes, Chief," the technician said. "We're not mistaken about that. It must have shattered during the energy burst after losing its balance."
Nick Fury frowned. His intuition told him that this shouldn't be the case, but the thing's strength was not low, after all, the energy it carried was extremely terrifying.
How could it break so easily?
And the final energy burst didn't seem to be that strong, did it?
Nick Fury looked up and saw that the surrounding buildings were damaged to varying degrees, but all the glass was broken.
He's not a technician, and even technicians don't understand the Cosmic Cube!
For a moment he couldn't figure it out, so he said, "Let's continue the investigation!"
After saying that, he turned and left, as there were still many things waiting for him to handle.
The incident quickly made headlines across major media outlets. Although the battle itself wasn't long, the sheer size of the Verizon was now being witnessed by the entire world.
It was as if a huge hole had opened up in the sky, and a large number of aliens passed through it. Finally, there was a strange tube that came from space.
The reaction from various countries has been very strong. After all, if aliens really exist, and even an alien army has come to Earth, it is something that most people simply cannot accept.
……
The following evening, Stark flew over, exchanged technologies with Link, and then hurriedly flew back.
Nanotechnology is more important to Stark, while Link is actually dispensable to energy technology because he already has it, but it's not ideal to use it directly. The two are friends.
A few days later, Nick Fury invited Link, and this time the Avengers were finally together. Link hid the Space Stone in his pocket and didn't carry it around openly.
After all, Thor is still here. He hasn't returned to Asgard. He can't go back until the Rainbow Bridge is repaired. The Tesseract is broken, so he can only wait!
Link is unaware of Thor's knowledge of the Infinity Stones, so he cannot casually reveal the Space Stone.
"Gentlemen, I invited you here to discuss the Avengers," Nick Fury then began to explain the Avengers plan.
However, after listening, Steve Rogers asked, "Then what about the energy weapons from before?"
He wouldn't pretend it didn't happen. Nick Fury raised an eyebrow, not expecting that this matter was still not over.
Link thought for a moment and said, "Director, I think you should tell the truth."
"Thor alone wouldn't warrant you developing energy weapons. Hiding things is detrimental to trust."
"Especially regarding the Avengers thing you mentioned, to gain people's genuine trust, we must have enough sincerity."
Nick Fury nodded slightly, assessing the situation; what he said was indeed correct.
“Okay, well, there are some things I really should tell you,” Nick Fury said. “Back in 1995, an alien fleet came to Earth; they were called the Kree.”
Nick Fury did not describe the characteristics of the Skrulls, namely their gene-replicating ability. Link estimated that a large number of Skrulls remained on Earth.
Furthermore, Link wouldn't reveal that Nick Fury's wife is also Skrull; he can do whatever he wants.
Nick Fury described Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers, which surprised Thor the most. He quickly asked, "Wait, you mean he can destroy a Kree warship with his bare hands?"
"That's right, she destroyed one, and then the others retreated." Nick Fury nodded slightly. "I didn't see any Asgardians come to help during this crisis."
"You keep saying that the Earth is under your protection, but I don't know if we can rely on you."
"Especially your Prince Loki, who is attempting to conquer the earth."
"As the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., I have a duty to ensure the safety of Earth. It's not that we enjoy developing weapons; isn't it normal for S.H.I.E.L.D., as a global agency, to develop weapons?"
"Otherwise, how will we surround the Earth?"
"A space carrier?"
"I was quite proud before, but now it seems this thing is completely useless, not even as good as a few fighter jets."
"We can achieve rapid global deployment, but we are still powerless if an alien army attacks from space."
"Therefore, I hope to form an Avengers team so that even if Earth fails, you can still deal a heavy blow to the enemy."
Hearing this, everyone finally understood Nick Fury's true thoughts and intentions: he had actually faced alien warships, and a fleet at that.
Everyone looked at each other, and Link spoke first: "I'm willing to join, but there are some issues we need to discuss."
