Chapter 14 Fast Forward

Chapter 14 Fast Forward

"My administrative leave ended, but then the captain gave me paid leave because the Irish gang threatened to kill me," Link said. "So I went to Las Vegas for vacation and won five million with three hundred dollars in a few days."

"That's when I realized how useful psychological knowledge is at the poker table."

"Therefore, I also attracted the attention of the casino and was invited to participate in high-stakes games."

"Guess who I ran into?"

Jessica seemed to be listening to gibberish, but still asked, "Oh, who did you meet?"

"Tony Stark, and Justin Hammer too." Link said smugly, "Five million each, count as five of us, and in the end I won them all."

"I discovered my talent, so I came back, quit my job, and became a professional gambler."

Jessica curled her lip and said, "So you're a multi-millionaire then?"

"That's right, I must say you have excellent taste, you took a liking to me at first sight." Link teased, and although he was telling the truth, most people would never believe him. "Recently, I've become quite famous in New York, I haven't lost a single game of poker."

"Many people want to challenge me, this expert!"

Jessica looked at Link and said, "You don't seem like a professional gambler, you seem like a professional conman."

"Your suspicion is unfounded!" Link ignored the other person's words and was about to discuss it further, but then the drinks and appetizers arrived. "Let's eat first!"

The three then began to eat, but Link didn't let the conversation fall flat. Instead, he asked Jessica what she liked to do, and he barely said a word to Tracy.

However, Link was also multitasking, simultaneously listening to the gallery.

Dinner lasted for more than an hour, and the three of them finished a bottle of wine. After dessert, Link called the waiter to settle the bill, which required a credit card.

Unless it's a small restaurant, you really can't escape the use of credit cards.

"A nice dinner!" Tracy said. "But it's getting late. Would you mind taking me home first?"

"No problem." As expected of a good friend, she offered to go home first, leaving Link and Jessica with time alone. Link readily agreed.

Jessica remained noncommittal.

The three of them got up and went out, still in the same seating arrangement as before. Link quickly took Tracy to her apartment.

Jessica got out of the car too. The two of them were still living together, but Tracy immediately grabbed her and said, "Don't miss this opportunity."

Jessica bit her lip, then sat in the passenger seat. Link said goodbye to Tracy and started the car.

"Would Miss Jessica like to take a tour of my apartment?" Link asked.

"Are you buying so many books about oil paintings and art to decorate your apartment?" Jessica asked.

"It seems you like to get to the bottom of things. With such a hobby, why not become a policeman or a secret agent? Both would suit your interests perfectly," Link said.

"I don't like being told what to do," Jessica said. "I'm terrifying when I'm angry."

"Oh?" Link laughed. "I don't believe it. You'll have to see for yourself when you get the chance."

The car drove back to the apartment and went directly into the underground parking lot. Each apartment has four underground parking spaces.

After taking the elevator to the top floor, Link opened the door, turned on the light, and said, "Please come in!"

Jessica went inside and glanced around. She quickly noticed the ceiling; the living room ceiling was made of glass.

"Is the top made of glass?" she asked curiously.

"Yes, there's sunshine all day, and if you're lucky, you can see the stars at night," Link said.

"So can we see it now?" Jessica asked.

"Let's try..." Link turned off the lights, and the moonlight shone down, making the living room not dark, but even somewhat hazy.

In this atmosphere, the man and woman quickly became entangled and cuddled on the sofa, with the man on top and the woman on the bottom.

Jessica gave Link a sense of disharmony; she was restraining her movements. Jessica had not received any training and had no idea how to control her strength.

He had never learned any fighting techniques and relied entirely on his super strength in combat, even his body position was always on the bottom, for fear of using too much force.

Link was immediately picked up and carried towards the bedroom. Jessica clung to Link's neck, trying her best to restrain herself.

More than an hour later, Jessica collapsed weakly on the bed, while Link got up and went out, returning shortly with water.

"Have some water, I'll go to the bathroom to fill the tub." Link gave the water to Jessica and went into the bathroom to fill the tub. When the tub was almost full, he came out, picked Jessica up, and carried her into the bathroom. The two of them got into the tub together.

"Phew~" Jessica had recovered quite a bit. Lying in Link's arms, feeling the warmth of the hot water, she let out a long breath and had a sweet smile on her face.

His fingers traced the lines of Link's muscles on his chest as he spoke, "You actually fell for me when I was with Tracy?"

"Hmm~ Still don't believe me?" Link raised an eyebrow. "Your hairstyle and clothes aren't very good. We'll come and fix your look tomorrow after you wake up."

"You'll see how things turn out then."

"Really?" Jessica wasn't very good at dressing up. Her hair was long and straight, and what was most annoying was that it was parted in the middle.

"I really love your black hair!" Link patted Jessica's hair.

"Oh, right, you're of Chinese descent," Jessica said, feigning surprise.

……

The two slept in each other's arms that night. When they woke up the next morning, they got up and washed up. Jessica ran to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator, only to find it full of fruit juice and drinks.

"There's no food in your fridge?" Jessica asked as she picked up her clothes in the living room.

Link was also picking up clothes, and said, "Yes, I don't like cooking at home, I always eat out."

"Put your clothes on and we'll go have breakfast, then I'll do your hair first."

Jessica smiled sweetly and said, "Actually, Tracy and I live together; we live in her apartment."

"I know, my ears are very sharp, you forgot?" Link raised an eyebrow at Jessica. "Would you like to move in?"

"So fast?" Jessica leaned closer and looked up at Link.

"Didn't I do a good job last night?" Link lowered his head and kissed her lightly.

Jessica is 1.75 meters tall, about the same height as Link. If she wore high heels, she would be the same height as Link.
